This was a really cute play! I would only suggest that Trixy be played by a younger child. However the one who played her did a very good job! The dad was awesome!
My daughter loves the Mo Willems books, especially the Knuffle Bunny books. She brought her very own stuffed Knuffle Bunny to the show Saturday, wildly anticipating the event. I have to say, for the targeted age group, the show lacked excitement. I know it was a musical, but the constant singing bored the kids. And while Trixie's operatic voice was spectacular to the adults, it was not age appropriate for her character. We are supposed to have an open mind about the real actors vs the characters in the book, but Dad was the only one who remotely resembled the illustrations. I dunno, over all, the show was just not very exciting, fun or enjoyable...
My daughter was upset most of the show. I saw parents picking up their kids and putting them on their laps during the show. I don't know why the baby character was performed by a tall and big woman. The actors had great voices but the lyrics and music were not good - sounded scary. It was a school production quality. I think its OK to through a show out there like that but then it should not cost as mush as does.
Great for the kids and just long enough. The Dad was awesome and the songs were great.
This was a great outing for the whole family. Our kids love the songs from this musical and they had a great time seeing it live. All of the action was easy to follow and the actors did a wonderful job of keeping everyone entertained.
Very enjoyable afternoon for children and accompanying adults...with messages for both about loss and understanding young non-verbal children...laughs along with wonderful music and beautiful voices. Mo Willem's Trixie and her Knuffle Bunny comes alive for children onstage at Emerald City!
The musical was perfect for my two and a half year old grandson. He was captivated throughout the performance. He is familiar with the story.
I was absolutely thrilled with this production of Knuffle Bunny! It is a favorite story of my daughter's and we brought her to Chicago for her 6th birthday and saw the show. We were all mesmerized. Wonderful actors, such well written and beautifully performed songs. We were all smiles throughout the experience!! Bravo!!
