    Blast from the past

by Magistra on 4/11/24Knoxville Civic Auditorium - Knoxville

This concert featured both unfamiliar and very familiar tunes from the Broadway team of Rodgers and Hammerstein. I wish there had been more familiar tunes; it seemed like it was a 50/50 split. However, the vocalists were amazing, and the KSO sounded great, as always. There was one awkward moment when a donor was allowed to conduct the orchestra, and it was difficult to watch. I will definitely attend future KSO performances and support this very integral piece of the Knoxville arts community.

    What Talent

by cillab on 4/9/24Knoxville Civic Auditorium - Knoxville

The KSO and the vocalists were so very talented. They collaborated on a wonderful tribute to Rodger’s and Hammerstein. My only complaint is that the Civic Auditorium needs to install handrails on the stairs in the balcony—- it is a dangerous exit for older patrons!

    Chicago Fan

by Jan on 3/12/24Knoxville Civic Auditorium - Knoxville

We recently saw Knoxville Symphony Chicago Nights. It was wonderful to hear Jason Scheff and the Orchestra play Chicago music that brings back so many fabulous memories. I grew up in Chicago and have been a huge fan since they started as CTA. It was a great evening from start to finish.

    KSO is the best!!

by AKB on 2/20/24Knoxville Civic Auditorium - Knoxville

Nothing beats a rock and roll song played by an orchestra. And Knoxville Symphony Orchestra does it right. It helps that the music they played, The Moody Blues, lends itself very nicely to orchestra music. After all, their original tunes were played by an orchestra.

    Lifelong Dream Come True

by Sami on 2/14/24Knoxville Civic Auditorium - Knoxville

I have been a fan of the Moody Blues since I was a teen back in the 70's. I've always wanted to attend one of their concerts. Although there was only the drummer from the band now, the singers and orchestra did a fantastic job and it was heaven to listen to them. Although attending a concert with almost all of us being seniors was very different from attending a concert in my teens. Thank you so much!
