If you see this band you'll wonder why you've never seen or maybe even heard of them before. They are amazing! One of the best live acts I've seen, they are honestly up there with Springsteen with their energy and ability to connect with an audience. Their music has both depth of sound and meaning - blending a bit of Americana with punky rock-and-roll and lyrics about much more than your latest romance. They rock hard but with a light-hearted sense of fun.
Big fan of this band and they never disappoint! I thought the new fiddle player took a couple songs to get her sea legs but when she got rolling she was great and she's awfully cute :) Naseem gave it his all as always and George Hall is the icing on the cake! Oh, also we had dinner there and it was swell! Noisy, but we still had a great time.
Kingsley Flood showcased its "Battles" album along with new songs from its just released EP., "To The Fire". Loved the energy throughout their set. They sounded amazing. Overall, well worth the two hour trip to them for the first time.
Walking on air after this show. humming the songs for days afterward.
They played forever and it was an incredible show! I love the way they sounds and they could have easily charged more for tickets!!
Due to a snowstorm, my friend bailed on me so I dragged my begrudging partner who does not like folk, but loves live music. The opening act the Lawsuits were awesome! Love the retro-folk vibe, and their harmonies were amazing! The other opening act Growing Pains definitely was not nearly as good. In fact, the cellist and bass were playing the same notes/chords with little to differentiate them. The lead singer should stick to the guitar and cut the vocals or write better songs. The best part of them was the drummer, by far, who was obviously classically trained. The main act, Kingsley Flood, was AMAZING! So much full of AWESOME! Their songwriting, play styles, and all around rock n' roll were full blown! Their new violinist can definitely rock it out and she has pipes that complement the lead singer very well! All of the instruments were well rounded and everyone complemented each other musically and in banter. They were having so much fun on stage, which reflected with the audience. The audience had a wide-range of age groups which made the show even better! My partner LOVED the show (which I knew he would!) All around the show was captivating, well played, and incredibly fun! I can't wait to see them again!
High energy show with incredible talent, Kingsley Flood kept a sold out crowd on their feet for more than 3 hours!
I came to see a show and that's what we got. Amazing musicians across the board. Lyrics and hooks with melodies are unique but tuneful. Can't say enough good things about this band.
Kingsley Flood has 3-4 really good songs and once you've heard that handful of songs, you really don't need to bother listening to the rest. The setlist consisted of too many songs that were so similar to their "hits" that you could literally sing the lyrics you just heard to the melody of the "new" songs. By the end of the show everything just sounded the same. Add bad sound to the mix and the evening was a bit of a bust. There were also several times when the fiddle sounded like nails on a chalkboard, but maybe some people like that. I like the band's energy, but I'm not going to waste a whole evening on them again.
