KING DIAMOND IN CONCERT:

When it comes to all-out macabre spectacle, few artists can compete with legendary Danish heavy metal icon King Diamond. The revered performer has been honing his diabolical stage persona for four decades, and his highly theatrical live show is the perfect showcase for his incredible falsetto vocals, bludgeoning guitars, and over-the-top showmanship. From his heavily painted black and white makeup to the neon crosses hanging upside-down above the stage, King Diamond's acclaimed tours provide an unforgettable concert experience that fans of full-blown heavy metal extravaganza won't want to miss.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Danish metal legend King Diamond, a.k.a. Kim Bendix Peterson, got his start as a performer in the mid-'70s with the heavy rock outfits Brainstorm and Black Rose. In 1981 he formed the seminal heavy metal group Merciful Fate, which provided a testing ground for the quasi-Satanic persona he had begun developing with his earlier projects. After two acclaimed albums and a world tour the band called it quits, and in 1985 King Diamond launched his solo career with his eponymous band. Their 1986 debut Fatal Portrait cracked the Top 40 in Sweden, enthralling the country's dark metal fans with morbid songs like "Lurking in the Dark" and "Halloween". The band followed up in 1997 with concept album Abigail, which landed on the US Billboard 200 chart and staked the increasingly ambitious, concept-oriented territory they would continue to explore on subsequent releases. With 12 studio albums and nearly as many acclaimed tours under their belt, King Diamond continues to thrill ticket buyers with their no-holds-barred heavy metal mayhem.

    King Diamond @ The Magnolia

by Lefty on 12/16/19The Magnolia - El Cajon

I have seen King Diamond many times before and the sound and the bass drums are the most powerful on the planet. I mean you feel it in your hair! I know The King wouldn't turn it down. I'm guessing the venue(The Magnolia) turned it down. It left me disappointed. The King came out and killed it but it lacked the power that I'm used to.

One of the best visual concerts ever!!

    by Morbius666 on 12/11/19Comerica Theatre - Phoenix

Big metal fan of KD & Mercyful Fate since the 80s. KIng put on an awesome show. Well paced & visually exciting. Great setlist. Both guitarists were shredding so hard, the fretboards were hella on fire!! By the end of bthe night, we managed to walk away with a drumstick given to us by drummer Matt Thompson! There were some sound EQ issues in the theater, but still the show was FANTASTIC. \m/(><)\m/

    Epic!!

by GT on 12/11/19Paramount Theatre - Seattle

I was slightly doubtful that King could pull off those legendary howls from the Mercyful Fate days and my all time favorite King album, Fatal Portrait, but was I ever wrong. King is KING of the falsetto! I was not dissapointed. I saw King in this same venue in 1986 when he opened for Megadeth, so you could say it was our 33rd Anniversary. The stage show was was right out of a fairytale, albeit nightmarish, which is right in line with King. Great show!

    New to King

by Ronnie on 12/9/19Comerica Theatre - Phoenix

The show was amazing! King Diamond is so theatrical and I love every minute. The seats however were just ok. If everyone in front of us didn't stand up for 2+ hours, the rest of us in the back wouldn't have had to either. The whole point of seats is to sit.

    The King

    by R. K. on 12/7/19Comerica Theatre - Phoenix

We arrived just in time to see King Diamond perform, we were not disappointed at all! Only sad that the concert had to end and we had to say farewell to Our King! Also, my Husband lost his Driver's License at the concert, so by chance I contacted Comerica Theater by messenger on FaceBook, they are mailing his DL to us. Overall great experience! I would do it one million more times, if I could see King Diamond again! Thank you!!
