Kina (and her hubby) blew the roof off!

Great performances by both Kina Grannis and her husband Imaginary Future! A lot of crying. A lot of singing along. A lot of fun! Both were fantastic and glad to see them back doing live shows. My wife had never heard of either of them before coming - she loved them too and their stories about infertility issues struck a raw nerve with us both creating even more emotions in the songs (my wife said "It was like they took what was in my heart about this situation and put it in a song!").

I absolutely loved meeting Kina at the Birchmere on August. I primarily went for the Meet & Greet and found it to be thrilling experience. I really loved the acoustic guitar song she played for the 48 of us standing in that hallway. Somehow, I was fortunate enough to be at the head of the line and was right by the chair she was standing on while playing. I then got to be the very first super fan to introduce myself to her in person. She was so beautiful, talented, and welcoming to me that it felt as if I were meeting an angel.

This was an awesome experience. Kina is the sweetest most down to earth performer ever, really draws in the crowd on a personal level. Her story is awesome and the quality of her style and music is unmatched!! the Birchmere is pretty cool too

Kina Grannis and Jessie (Imaginary Future) were great in concert. She delivers a heartwarming, emotional show, with plenty of commentary about her songs, her songwriting, and why she is an artist. I learned a lot about the impetus for her new songs, and some of her older songs. The Birchmere is a great place for such a concert. Tables to sit at, great food, with large portions: you won't go home hungry.

Kina Grannis and Imaginary Future provide a perfect evening of honest, pure, acoustic music. Imaginary Future opened the evening with a handful of songs, accompanied only with his guitar, spacing them out with personal stories (and jokes) in between. He sets the tone perfectly for his wife, Kina to pick up where he leaves off, even joining her for a few songs later in the evening. Kina presented many songs from her new album, In The Waiting. She also worked a few songs off of her previously albums into the mix. Her voice is pure and spot-on. Her gratitude to the audience is present throughout her set. Her personal stories paint vibrant pictures behind each of the songs. I was fortunate to part of the meet and greet prior to the show, in which she performed song before the show that only those who got the meet and greet could attend. She then greeted each of us with a smile, briefly talking, signing items, and taking pictures. Imaginary Future (Jesse) was close by to also meet those who were familiar with his music. Fans of these artists and of the acoustic, singer/songwriter genre will be more than satisfied with their sets. I'd go as far as to say even if you're completely unfamiliar with their music, it would be an enjoyable evening due to their rapport with the audience and how easily their voices and lyrics can be heard. This was my first time at The Birchmere. The venue is beautiful and it's location is great since it's not in a hectic place in town. Having it's own parking lot is nice, too. My friend and I ordered food, which was good, but greatly overpriced. During my evening, I interacted with lots of the staff and each of them was kind, helpful, and laid back. They probably have the best staff I've experienced at any venue. I'll be keeping an eye to future events happening at this venue and hoping that Kina and Jesse will return to have a similar evening to the one I had the other night.

This whole show was simply Kina and a guitar or keyboard. I was mesmerized. I always knew she’d be an incredible live performer, but having the added bonus of hearing her speak about her writing and tell her stories was a real treat. Great show!!

Amazing, Vulnerable, Humble

Kina puts on an amazing show. She was vulnerable, and shared personal stories and experiences with the crowd. Her voice is angelic, and her lyrics hit home. It was a very moving and inspiring night.
