The concert wasn't good at all. The sound was very poor. Not a real concert sound. Gran Combo de Puerto Rico was a no show. Jorge Celedon didn't bring his group. Their instruments were improvised. No acordeon in a Vallenato group is unacceptable. The important groups were the worse.
Dissapointed at the fact that Gran Combo cancelled and not even a small discount was awarded to ticketholders. Felt sorry for Grupo Gale: their sound was horrible. Could not hear their voices. Sound improved a little with the other groups as the night progressed but it was not the best. Lights kept blinding people. Could not see the groups perform without being blinded by super strong lights (mainly seats accross the stage, side seats where a little better). On the other hand, the atmosphere was very nice. People had a good time. The performances where outstanding including Jorge's even though he had to perform without his musicians. Colombians felt a patriotism that was contagious to others.
The event started on time, Gale was a decent opening group. Guayacan knows how to get the party started, they were absolutely amazing; what a powerful voice has the lead singer! Then Niche made us feel like were back there home with all the classics, not so sure if I like the new songs. So far everyone was dancing and having a blast until Jorge Celedon killed the mood showing up without an ACCORDION. How on earth you come to a concert without your most emblematic instrument, you're not a balada pop singer, it was very disappointing. His voice is amazing tho.
Thoroughly enjoyed every single performance. Sound was great. For this performance, seat in Portal 7, Row 109, AA13 was Excellent!!.
Main Group El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico didn't show, Celedon didn't have his group with him, he had an improvised group/instruments with him. The main instrument is Acordeon didn't have it. Sound was bad, very low . We need money back.
Concert was good. Getting better and better as different bands came on. But, at the last one, the one i was waiting for, and probably a lot of people were, Celedon had no accordion. Vallenato is known for the accordion and to not have it is like not being there.
All of the acts participating in the show were first class. I was pretty familiar with all of the salsa acts and was really impressed with the performance of Orquesta Guayacán. They were tops this evening. Just have a couple critiques to the event 1) Jorge Celedon seemed out of place in this show and his performance was kind of anticlimactic, three great salsa acts followed by a pop star took away from my experience, and 2) stopping all concession sales with about two acts left on the show seem a bit too early. Loved the salsa experience!!!
The event was scheduled with the "GREAT COMBO" and never made the presentation, the group "JORGE CELEDON" did not show up with minimal musical instruments for an event such as "GUACHARACHA Y ACORDEON"; it is disrespectful to his audience, Because the rhythm called "Vallenato" need these mandatory instrument to be vallenato, was improvised with electric guitar and Organ.
