KENNY WAYNE SHEPHERD IN CONCERT:
Guitar god Kenny Wayne Shepherd is one of the fiercest young axmen of his generation, and he continues to blow audiences away every time he takes the stage. The self-taught virtuoso is a sight to behold in concert, where his furious fingers and flailing blonde locks serve as the perfect counterpoint to the precision and ease of his razor-sharp riffs. Whether he's playing bluesy originals from 2014's Goin' Home or covering legends like Bob Dylan and Jimi Hendrix, Shepherd always treats fans to electrifying performances that are as heavy on pure gusto as they are on musical chops.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Shreveport, Louisiana-born Kenny Wayne Shepherd got his first guitar in early childhood and began learning the instrument with a unique self-taught method. He was quickly recognized as a guitar prodigy, and at age 13 he was invited to play on stage with blues icon Bryan Lee. His first performance at the Red River Revel Arts Festival in Shreveport attracted the eye of label execs, and before long Shepherd had signed a multiple record deal with Giant Records. His 1995 debut album Leadbetter Heights topped the blues chart, a feat he repeated with five subsequent albums including his 1997 sophomore album Trouble Is... -- the longest-running album on the Billboard Blues Chart in history. In 2014 Shepherd released his seventh studio album Goin' Home, another chart-topper that has fans eagerly awaiting his next must-see series of tour dates.

"Kenny Wayne Shepherd and his band rocked the blues. What great musicians. His closing act of Jimmy Hendrix's 'Voodoo Child' was awesome."
The band put on a stellar show and it was an awesome experience.
Kenny and his band are top notch! He is an awesome guitarist! The show was fabulous. Can’t wait to see them again.
The Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band concert was incredible! Kenny and musicians presented a professional and yet personable show. The venue was perfect. It allowed the show to become a more personal and relaxed experience. Kenny and crew performed from the heart and clearly loved what they did which made the concert even more enjoyable. It gave an aura of having "friends"in for a jam session. It was perfect.
Amy Venable opened for KWS as she did the last time I saw KWS at the SPAC ( a great venue with friendly folks running things) and was SO much better. She really seemed much more comfortable in her actions and playing. This girl can rock. KWS was his great self and played like the guitar was on fire. Moving his fingers in a blur. The only thing missing was Ballad of a Thin Man. I love his version but it didn't take anything from the performance.
Ally Venable is a must see for any fan of the blues, or excellent guitar playing. Don’t Mess with Texas. The Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band has never sounded better. The band was tight. The addition of the horns added a great dimension to the overall experience. Enjoyed listing to the cuts off Dirt on my Diamonds. The venue was excellent. Been there multiple times. Thank you for keeping the blues alive!
Kenny Wayne Shepherd put on an awesome show! He and the band are super talented. We will definitely see him again if the tour is close to us.
Love the blues , and who better to play them than Mr Shepherd !! Great dinner and an awesome show = a perfect night 🌙
Great venue great performance, easy ticket ordering
The show did not disappoint! we had great seats and the show was awesome!
Well, this was our 15th time seeing the amazing KWS Band. They never disappoint. We front row (center - two seats from the left) facing the stage. The band was tight and gave it. I personally was disappointed with the crowd as they were rather sedentary. I would have stood at least for the last couple songs, but the crowd sat and I didn’t want to block anyone’s view. Maybe book the Whitaker Center in Harrisburg PA the next time Or the Hershey Theatre in Hershey PA. I think the crowds would be different. Anyway, we love the KWS B and will always support and go to their shows!
