    Beautiful

by 7819 on 4/15/14Luckman Fine Arts Complex - Los Angeles

The venue was great. Any seat was a great seat. The venue was small and intimate. The sound system was excellent. It couldn't have been any clearer. The quality was over the top. These conditions set the stage for the performance. Karsh Kale was great. He had three guest features with him whom were equally great. They each had so much passion throughout the whole performance. Karsh Kale with his tablas, the vocals (were so touching)...and the other two instruments I had never seen before but have heard. One looked like a sitar, and I just can't even explain what the other one looked like. They played for two hours with a five minute break in-between. After, they did a little meet and greet with the fans which they were all very accomodating and grateful. They truely appreciate their fans. I got an autograph from Karsh Kale and a picture. I loved everything about my experience.

    Awesome!

by kp006 on 2/1/11Royce Hall - UCLA Live - Los Angeles

Karsh Kale and the MIDival Punditz did a fantastic job. They are amazing to watch live and the variations in their fusion music compositions gets your body rocking. Very talented people creating a new class of music.

    Amazing show, Awesome acoustics

by Kenyandesi on 1/31/11Royce Hall - UCLA Live - Los Angeles

I loved the show. As usual Karsh Kale, MIDIval Pundits and Vishal Vaid made an amazing team to bring on a show to captivate the audience. The venue also had AMAZING acoustics which added to the whole show. The only reason this show got 4 not 5 stars is that I wish they had picked a venue that was less formal and had more room to move and groove.

East meets West .. at its best

by JRana on 1/31/11Royce Hall - UCLA Live - Los Angeles

Sorry about the cheezy title, however it does says it all. Listening live to these guys was amazing. The new vocalist is very good , however it was hard to make out Ghalib's poetry over the drums at times. I wish they would record this with the new vocalist.

    Got goosebumps!

by nickelpin on 1/31/11Royce Hall - UCLA Live - Los Angeles

I liked Karsh Kale and MIDIval Punditz in recordings, but they are incredible when experienced live. This performance, they brought in bassist Tony Grey as well as an amazing electric violin player (don't know his name), and even brought in the vocalist Vishal Vaid. Witnessing Kale's incredible talents with the drums, both traditional and drumset style was worth the price of the ticket (which was seriously no joke) The evening seemed mostly devoted to the new upcoming Karsh Kale album as I didn't recognize any of the music as being from either MIDIval Punditz or previous Karsh Kale albums -- either that, or it was so transformed in live performance that it became a new experience.

Nice Venue, Great Band, Terrible Promotion.

by Backblade on 1/31/11Galaxy Theatre - Santa Ana

Karsh and Midival Pundits are always fun to see, and Friday night was no exception. However, I think promotion for this show was terrible! About 50 people were in attendance in their only Orange County show, Saturday was up at UCLA, so all the OC folks coulda saved a drive. While everyone was great, and you could get up nice and close, the loss of a few hundred folks rocking out took away from the vibe a bit.
