Kaki spent the first hour going through her entire first album, took a 10 min break and then returned to the stage, this time accompanied by drummer and AVI player. The second half was more rock n roll style. Throughout the concert, Kaki was - as usual - extremely witty with the crowd. She's sharp as a razor, plays fantastic and presents a what you see is what you get form throughout. This was the best of the three concerts I've seen her in the past few years.
Kaki's stage presence was welcoming and it was amazing to see the full circle of her career so far. Everybody Loves You was so incredible that I and friends purchased a second show ticket even though we weren't planning on staying. Thanks for such an amazing show!
If you've never heard Kaki, or seen her live, you owe it to yourself to do so. I am approaching the sixty year old mark, and if I had a bucket list, this would have been on it. So happens I was planning to visit my daughter in Medford at the time, checked the Boston area concert schedule for the time I was there and As fate would have it, Kaki was in town. Don' t miss her if she is anywhere near you. I will add Brighton Music Hall was a great venue to see such a talent, up close and personal.
It was amazing to see Kaki perform her first album from start to finish. Her style is unique and captivating to witness live. See her solo, and get up front!
Thank you Brighton Music Hall for hosting one of my favorite artists. Kaki King NEVER lets her audience down with her incredible talent, grace, and quirky comments in between songs :) My only gripe is the place wasn't nearly packed enough but I shouldn't complain, that leaves more Kaki for me!
A true virtuoso on guitar. Really funny and entertaining banter between songs. It's obvious she loves what she is doing and also love guitars. It was worth the price of admission just to see her beautiful guitars, as well the stories behind them.
I've never been more mesmerized by a guitar player. As a player myself, both Kaki AND Lady Lamb were very inspiring and I can't wait to try writing and playing in a different styles. I will definitely be back to watch them both when they're in the Boston area again.
Kaki is brilliant. not many times do I see chairs in the Westcott Theater, but it was a nice and comfortable Monday evening. Kaki holds the audience all on her own, and tells lovely personal stories.
great night. inspired music. awesome venue. worth every cent and more.
