    In a word: Perfection!

by CrazyIrishEyes on 9/23/14Rough Trade NYC - Brooklyn

Justin Currie remains the most talented yet under appreciated singer/songerwriter of the past 30+ years. His voice is clear, his guitar playing awe-inspiring, and the entire set was cleanly played with a lot of interaction with his audience. I can't recommend seeing him enough. I wish he'd do a Boston show! I drove to NYC from Boston for it and I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

    Justin Currie rules!

by Talisker30 on 7/9/10Paradise Rock Club - Boston

Completely agree with fellow reviewers here. Justin's voice was excellent live and it was a thrill to see him after being a huge fan since Waking Hours by DA in 1989 . . . thanks for all the years and all the FABULOUS songs. Justin really gave a great show in spite of the Paradise having its better days long behind it. I wish he could have had a better venue, and he's so deserving of one . . . but then he'd have been further away from his fans! If Justin ever stops writing/performing there will be a mob of pleading fans heading to Glasgow. Come back to Boston, soon, and again and again

Words cannot describe how fantastic Justin was. Greatest time we have had at a show EVER! Sorry the night had to end, would go again and again and again.

Mind boggling why he isn't more well known!!!

by Mumfinn on 6/20/10Paradise Rock Club - Boston

Justin Currie in my mind is one of the best singer/songwriters of our generation. It's a very sad statement about the record (this is what you WILL listen to, and you WILL LIKE IT!) industry when they cram what some people call music down your throat, and someone with his talent can go almost unnoticed. Maybe that's a good thing. At least we won't have to worry about fame ruining him.

    Justin where have you been?

by Nuada on 6/19/10Paradise Rock Club - Boston

After years of industry travails...Justin Currie's return to the Paradise last night was only a few humorous mishaps shy of sensational! If you recall Del Amitri's wry, clever, incisive pop then you know of Justin's ability to write and sing songs of substance. The personality, and musical skill was perfectly suited for the venue's size and the mix of past and present in his set list was also pitch perfect. The only regret I have is that I hope that it will not take another 11 years to wait to share a magical evening with one of the most ignored and best loved musicians of his generation. Just give a listen, and I am sure you'll agree, Justin is an original and he is back with a vengeance!

Justin Currie is hotter than ever

by greaterbostonJCfan on 6/19/10Paradise Rock Club - Boston

Who'd have thought an acoustic show could be so great? It was! The new songs are awesome and he sang a lot of older favorites too. Hope he comes back to Beantown soon!

Justin Currie and his music were outstanding!!

by DelsFan on 6/14/10Fine Line Music Cafe - Minneapolis

Currie played an even mix of dels songs plus new songs off his latest CD, plus one off the first solo CD. Extremely tight and big sound for just him on guitar and a keyboard/accordion musician. Currie had funny side comments as well between songs. Highly recommend if you liked Del Amitri

Justin Currie at the Fine Line

by SCarrGo on 6/13/10Fine Line Music Cafe - Minneapolis

Technical glitches plagued the first few numbers--not that any of us would have noticed if he hadn't said anything! He sounded great. He played several numbers from the new album, and went back quite a ways into the Del Amitri library. I recommend JC to anyone who is a fan of great lyrics and excellent song-writing.

    Justin is Supremely Talented!

by Meehs on 6/12/10Fine Line Music Cafe - Minneapolis

This was a stripped down, acoustic show with Justin on guitar (and vocals of course) and Peter Adams on keyboards/accordion/drum machine/backing vocals. Peter is very talented and complimented Justin really well. Justin did a good mix of Del Amitri classics and his newer solo works. Opened with "Always The Last To Know". Did an interesting cruise ship/lounge arrangement of "Not Where It's At" off of SOSC. Other Del Amitri songs included "Nothing Ever Happens", "This Side Of The Morning", "Just Like A Man", "Make It Always Be Too Late", and "Sleep Instead of Teardrops". The tracks that he did off of the new solo album, "The Great War", were unfamiliar to me but sounded fantastic (I bought a signed copy after the show). The Fine Line is a pretty intimate setting, so Justin had to deal with people shouting out requests after practically every song (including me). Many of which he graciously accommodated; including a couple of old Del Amitri numbers that he couldn't quite remember how to play. It was a great show and I only wish that they would have played another couple of hours and done more requests, but they'd have been there all night. Justin has such a fantastic body of work at this point that he can't possibly play everything that everyone wants to hear. Overall it was a wonderful show! The only problem I had was that there was some technical difficulty at the beginning of the show that was clearly very frustrating to Justin and Peter. Not their fault but it sort of made the first part of the show a bit awkward. Once they got that taken care of, it was fantastic.
