About

Spanish singer/songwriter Julio Iglesias is proof that romance is alive and well. The passionate balladeer was officially recognized by Guinness World Records in 2013 as the best-selling male Latin artist of all time with more than 250 million albums sold worldwide. He's also one of the world's most successful touring artists, one who continues to sell huge numbers of tickets for shows at arenas and stadiums around the world. Iglesias has released more than 80 albums, in 14 languages, over the course of his career, which peaked from the late'70s through the '80s. In North America, he's best known for two duets from the '80s: "To All the Girls I've Loved Before" (with Willie Nelson) and "All of You" (with Diana Ross). Ironically, Iglesias may owe his storied career to a near-tragedy. He turned to music when he was 20 years old, after he was paralyzed in a car accident that ended his career as a goalkeeper for the Real Madrid soccer team. He's said that he learned to play guitar while recovering over the course of three years, and eventually regained almost all of his mobility. In 1968 he won a songwriting contest that led to his first recording contract.  The following year he released his debut album, "Yo Canto," in Spain. By 1971, he'd sold his first million records and begun to expand his fan base throughout the Spanish and English speaking world.

His songs have remained truthful to his heart all this time

by Julio in NYC 1994 and now again in Boston 2019 Boston on 12/16/19

I attended his concert in Madison Square Garden NYC 25 years ago, and, tonight in Boston. at Agganis Arena, Boston. Although his time has matured him a little, Julio's vocal color remained same striking one , and the soulful expression is deepened to invite us to emerge into his musical journey throughout the night. And, his blessing of the family and love for the humanity made us get closer instantly. I guess someone left a review without following his musical journey like other fans, but, just like most of other die-hard fans tonight, we all got together and chanted his songs together, with joy and sometimes with tears. Spiritually heightened and well-connected with other respectful audience and the equally respectful show crews throughout the 2 hours. Julio sang tirelessly. And, I report that Boston Concert was a really impressive one to remember. Go meet Julio when you can. You will love him like a lover, a brother, a friend, an uncle of genuine affinity.

Julio - great Venue - careless

by FergieB on 3/5/19The Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory - Irving

Julio Iglesias was wonderful. Toyota Music Factory failed. Most venues have security around the stage. This one did not. People kept walking right up to the stage to take selfies. They also crowded the aisles. Those that paid for front section seats couldn’t see over the crowds that formed through the aisles and around the stage. Once the venue lost control, they never really got it back. It was really disappointing. Julio Iglesias was wonderful. His vocals were good and he was funny and charming.

    Dissapointed

by Hardliner on 3/5/19The Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory - Irving

Toyota Music Factorys sound system was just plain awful. Unless you were on stage or sitting directly in front, you could only hear julio whisper singing. Upon leaving I heard multiple people complaining about the sound system. No one in back could hear. What a disappointment because Julio is a class act. That venue is not for him, go back to Bass Hall in Fort Worth.

    Not loud enough to hear

by RTG on 3/2/19Majestic Theatre San Antonio - San Antonio

I loved the show but when Julio spoke I could hardly hear what he was saying and that goes for some of his songs. His voice is low and not loud enough for us old folks to hear him.

Great concert! He’s getting older and there was some microphone/sound issues, but it was a very good concert.
