    Awful

    by Jen on 8/28/23

This was the most pathetic performance I have ever been to. This band needs to retire I’m sorry they were terrible and waste of my $20

    Almost like the real thing

    by Rockin Rick on 8/14/23

They guys were great. All the great Journey songs. Great solos. Great crowd involvement. At times the vocals were low. But would see them again.

It was a very enjoyable concert!

    by Mr.C on 8/14/23

My oldest daughter and I attended the Journey concert. We both had a great time! I enjoyed the fact that the lead singer went into the crowd. Nice responses from the crowd! The Journey tribute band DSB was better and more accurate that I saw at the fair either last year or the year before!

    NOT the real Journey!

    by CATWATER on 8/14/23

Underwhelmed with the Sound Quality and the Tribute Band did not sound like the real Journey.

The lead singer dodged alot of high notes

    by Ted on 8/14/23

I wouldn’t see them again although the drummer and guitarists were good. Covering Steve Perry is a tough ask.

    Journey Unauthorized, Authorized

    by Richard Anthony on 8/14/23

I was a big fan of Journey in their heyday of the late 70’s and early 80’s. Will always remember their show at The Rose Bowl in 1982. Saw Journey with their Steve Perry Filipino replacement singer at the Irvine Amphitheater in 2005 (so weird hearing Steve Perry’s voice coming out of that little dude mouth 😂). I’ve seen Journey Unauthorized about 4 or 5 times over the years. Their musicianship is amazing, and their lead singer phenomenal (weird hearing Steve Perry’s voice coming out of this jacked and very muscular dude… 😂 haha). And it’s cool how he comes out and sings Open Arms and Oh Sherrie while in the crowd (and the women he sings too inevitably know all the words and sing along with him too). Soooo many great songs. Always a good time. Two thumbs up 😁👍👍

Good music but singer needs work.

    by Deja on 8/14/23

I attended the Journey Unauthorized show at OC fair. The music and the band was great but the singer or the sound crew needs work. He sounded terrible. Half the time I couldn’t hear him the other half his voice didn’t hit the high notes at all. I could have just watched show outside of the Hanger area since the big screen tv outside was clearer and you didn’t have to buy tickets:)

Aged / out of shape lead singer performer.

    by OC Retiree on 8/14/23

The group impersonating "Journey"was not as talented as the other performers during the OC Fair Hanger shows. Their wigs were out of place while performing..

    Cringey Concert Experience

    by 80’s Guy on 8/14/23

Saw Journey Unauthorized at the Orange County Fair on Friday, 8/11. We have seen several tribute bands there before and all were great, so we were expecting the same from Journey Unauthorized. In a nutshell, the band itself was pretty good and did a decent job of playing Journey’s music. However, the lead singer was very hard to take seriously. He is an aging, not terribly attractive body builder whose vocals were very inconsistent. But what made things worse is that he wore a cheap looking long hair wig and during the second half of the show went shirtless wearing a black vest that was two sizes two small. He was obviously trying to emulate the iconic Steve Perry look but in no way was able to pull it off. In fairness, the majority of the middle aged crowd seemed to be happy with the concert. Whether it was because they were just happy to be at the fair, somewhat intoxicated, or just didn’t get out much, I’m not sure but for me and my party of 6 it was an underwhelming experience.
