    Beautiful Evening

by Virginian in Georgia on 10/28/23Atlanta Symphony Hall - Atlanta

Loved this performance. Exceptional performance for The Moldau. We’ve been to several gray performances in Detroit and Toronta with Peter Oundjian conducting. But it’s been 10 years and he hasn’t lost his touch. Hadn’t heard the Buchner 1st before and it definitely showed Joshua Bell’s talent. But our favorite of the evening was the first movement (Earth) of Joshua Bell’s recently commissioned Elements. We love attending the Atlanta Symphony whenever we’re in town. Great acoustics and programming each time from a very talented orchestra!

    Amazing pairing

by Big Gordon on 10/28/23Atlanta Symphony Hall - Atlanta

Joshua Bell was powerful, nuanced, energetic, masterful—everything expected and more. ASO clearly wanted to keep up and was equal to the task. Cappricio Espanol was a rousing end to a sublime night.

A Fabulous New Year’s afternoon of music with the mesmerizing violin by Joshua Bell and his gold lame’ soprano wife, Larissa, singing like a beautiful goddess. An event to remember!!

    Josh and his wife ...GREAT

by AA on 1/5/22Neal S Blaisdell Concert Hall - Honolulu

The choices made by orchestra were not as great; seemed disjointed, would have like to have Josh play more melodic pieces. and more with his wife too

    Joshua Bell

by HulaGolfer on 1/5/22Neal S Blaisdell Concert Hall - Honolulu

Concert was fabulous. Joshua did not disappoint, the Barber concerto was my fav, especially the 3rd movement. I am really impressed with the H. Symphony, under Maestro Falleta, performed wonderfully. The orchestra was disciplined and restrained however, underlying those efforts was playing with precision and finesse, well done! So glad we attended this beautiful concert. Enjoyed the whole program including Joshua's beautiful wife's performance. Surprised concert wasn't sold out.

    Fantastic!

by gtkyl72 on 1/5/22Neal S Blaisdell Concert Hall - Honolulu

This was our second concert after the re-opening of the concert hall ... there was a more orderly check-in process but it still needs improvement. Two lines are not enough; perhaps four is needed because like the Final Fantasy concert; it took too long for the patrons to enter the hall. That is the end of my "complaints". Now, to the music ... the HSO is fantastic! I can't recall hearing better in my experience going back to the 80's. Joshua Bell was in fine form, so animated and his virtuosity created a beacon of light in the hall; it was the sound of his playing that floated upwards and outward ... a true artist playing a significant instrument, his 1713 Stradivarius. Larisa Martinez gave a fine performance; I wish the sound engineer (who was sitting in front of us in the balcony) raised the level of her mike because her voice was, at times, overwhelmed by the orchestra. I especially loved the counterpoint with her husband in the arrangement of music from West Side Story. Finally, Aaron Copland's Appalachian Spring was so beautiful ... I could picture a tranquil morning in the country, flowers blooming, dew on the leaves, a young couple getting ready for their journey westward.

Joshua Bell was dazzling as always. The Copeland and Gershwin pieces were expertly done by the orchestra.

    Heavenly played violin

    by les9021 on 2/5/20Bardavon 1869 Opera House - Poughkeepsie

First of all, it was a benefIt concert for the HPV by Joshua Bell and Alessio Bax! Also, it was two hours of heavenly played violin by Joshua Bell!!! Finally, it was my first concert with J. B. performing live. The sounds He produced playing his violin were so buttery soft that I felt I was in the heaven, and all around was surreal. Thank you Joshua Bell for a chance to listen to your performance!
