About

Josh Groban is an American crossover vocalist and songwriter covering classical, contemporary and pop styles. Josh enjoyed tremendous chart and critical success almost from the very start of his career with numerous gold- and platinum-selling records and worldwide tours in the 10-plus years he has been on the world stage. Blessed with a highly versatile voice that can range from upper baritone into the tenor range, Josh's unquestionably impressive vocals has made him one of the most popular crossover classical singers of the last 20 years.

He was born in 1981 in Los Angeles and attended Los Angeles County High School for the Arts before being offered a place at prestigious Carnegie Mellon University. While studying he was introduced to award-winning music producer David Foster, who invited the talented singer to work with him. After a number of stand-in roles, he impressed everyone he worked with and was signed to Warner Brothers and soon found himself on tour with Sarah Brightman. He featured on her DVD La Luna and quickly found himself in high demand. With the vocal ability to sing the classics as well as more contemporary and pop-styled songs, he was able to work with people like Elton John, Charlotte Church and Stevie Wonder, further stretching his talents and range.

By 2002 his self-titled debut album had gone double-platinum and he was appearing at events like the Nobel Peace Prize Concert and the Vatican Christmas Performance, alongside artists such as Sting, Celine Dion and Ronan Keating. His 2006 song “You Raise Me Up” won Josh his first Grammy nomination for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance and his third album, Awake, went double-platinum in both the USA and Canada. In 2007 Josh took part in a tour that brought him to 71 different cities around the world, truly establishing him as a worldwide vocal star.

His 2010 album Illuminations was another big hit and contained 11 songs written by Josh himself. It reached number four on the US Billboard chart and once again sold more than million copies in the USA. His 2013 album All That Echoes jumped straight into the Billboard Chart at No. 1. Josh has made a number of live appearances in front of huge crowds, such as his live TV special on PBS, the NFL Super Bowl and performing at the Concert For Diana at Wembley Stadium.

    Magnificent

    by Irene on 4/6/23

I cried and laughed and enjoyed every second as I did not want it to end. I saw him in Boston and can’t wait until he returns to my area. There are no words to explain his talents.

    nice and relaxing!

    by A. M. on 9/3/22

Got tickets on the lawn at the PNC Bank Arts Center and had a perfect view! Josh is very funny and his vocals sound the exact same as if you pressed play on the actual song recording. The orchestra also sounded beautiful and his voice combined with all of the instruments was just incredible. His concerts are a perfect date night if you want something relaxing and enjoyable. so worth it!!

    Great Night.

by Leighk73 on 8/23/22TD Pavilion at the Mann - Philadelphia

I like The Mann. This is the third show I've seen there over the years and it's a pretty venue. I have gotten very into the open-air theaters post covid and if the weather cooperates I prefer to see a show outdoors. The sound is fantastic, there are huge screens, people can walk around without being in the way of your view. It just feels like such an event. Parking is on the grass and can take some time coming and going so it helps if you don't feel rushed. Josh Groban sounded perfect. Just a lovely evening with great music. Even a quick, light rainfall as we were going in didn't dampen the spirits of the crowd. It wound up cooling the air and stopped before the show. Snacks are pricey, bring a bottle of water.

    Josh Groban

by ME on 8/18/22Vivint Arena - Salt Lake City

I love Josh Groban! I was disappointed in how loud the band was compared to his voice. Sometimes his beautiful voice was drowned out. The best song of the concert was the encore when it was just him and the piano.

    People...

by Music junkie on 8/16/22Greek Theatre - Los Angeles

The concert was great! Guest services oblivious to the patrons in some areas.. I saw 2 groups of people in an argument situation and had to try and get the attention of workers that were watching the show and not the patrons. Both employees were oblivious and I got between the 2groups in one argument.

    My boyfriend

by GigiUT5 on 8/12/22Greek Theatre - Los Angeles

I think I've seen all of Josh Groban's concerts, and he is the consummate performer! Gorgeous voice! Amazing talent! Funny banter, too! He's always a little self-deprecating - just enough to love him, because you can tell it's real, despite his mega-success! His parents were in the audience - I was kvelling for them!

Loved Josh-- didn't love the wait time or the sound system

by JayBird on 8/10/22Vivint Arena - Salt Lake City

This is the second Josh Groban concert I have attended in the Vivint/Energy Solutions Arena. I have been a Josh Groban fan for a long time, and I thought his performance was amazing. We didn't appreciate, however, that the pre-acts took an hour and then we had to wait in our seats for another 45 minutes before Josh entered the stage! Waiting nearly two hours to see the main act is excessive and uncourteous to fans. We also wish that the sound system could have been turned down. We were seated in the very back of section 139, and the sound was so loud that we actually plugged our ears at times throughout the concert. The volume was not enjoyable and even painful. Additionally, it sounded like Josh's mic was, at times, dimmer than the band behind him. He didn't always sound like he was front and center. The sound all around was not balanced.
