    Jon was great

    Jon Faddis' concert on Wednesday night was great. First of all, the Amaturo Theater is a wonderful concert hall, with great acoustics and sight lines. The group sounded great-Jon's selection of musicians was perfect-each a soloist in their own right. Of course, Jon's playing was fabulous-a Tribute to Dizzy (his mentor), with a mention of Clark Terry. Jon's mixture of playing, story-telling, and humor made for a very memorable evening. Dining at Marti's before the concert (prix-fix) made for an entire memorable evening!

    I was pleasantly surprised at how accessible the Black, Brown & Beige piece is. Loved it!
