Overall a positive experience in an intimate venue, but...

by Dirk on 9/25/19Ludlow Garage Cincinnati - Cincinnati

...the way they've set up the reserved seating is hard to believe. If you are seated to the far right in the D-F depth chart, as you face the stage, for what looks like great seats on the seating chart where you buy your tickets, you can't see more than about half the stage. In the rows A-C - the front rows - you literally can't see the stage or performers at all. Had I purchased tickets to sit there I would have demanded a refund. The owners of Ludlow's Garage, newly renovated with nice seats, don't show the solid WALL that interferes with line of sight. This is incomprehensible. Nice folks behind the bar and scanning tickets. But $11 for a can of mediocre wine seems high. Lastly the only men's room I saw was small and crowded - really need another one somewhere for a full house. Jimmy Herring and the 5 of 7 band amazing! Go see them!

    herring on fire

by misky on 2/9/14B.B. King Blues Club and Grill - New York

The Ringers played for over two hours and Jimmy Herring' s guitar solos were more than worth the admission price.

    Incredible!

by ideofunk on 4/8/13Howard Theatre - Washington

As great as these guys are individually, it's impressive how well they gelled as a group. Nobody tried to outplay anyone else, and they killed it from start to finish! I really hope they do this again sooner than later....

    Wooten

by LMLJP on 11/15/12Carolina Theatre - Durham

Best show I have saw in a long time. Lady sitting next to me started crying when Victor performed his last song about family members passing on.. Would love to see Victor come back to Carolina, I have been trying to see him live for years..

    Victor Wooten Living Legend

by PPSB on 11/12/12The National - Richmond

Victor Wooten is clearly a once every few generations type genius. His band was phenomenal and he himself is totally mind boggling. We were there to hear him, so I can't really speak for Jimmy Herring except to say he is not my cup of tea.

Victor Wooten is from another planet. Jimmy Herring is unbelievable. I think he's a wizard. Some of the best fusion I've ever witnessed.

    Wooten rocks

    by Phoenyx4416 on 11/10/12Carolina Theatre - Durham

Victor Wooten and his band kicked some serious ass at this show. The band was relaxed and comfortable and you could tell they were having fun on stage. The music was killer and there was great energy throughout the building. The Herring band--well, not even close to being entertaining. They seemed stiffand aloof, were intent on just being as loud as they could be and seemed to play the same songs over and over, it all sounded the same. They just about killed the buzz in the house that was generated by Wooten. After three songs from them I walked out as did a number of other folks. This show would have gotten 5 stars if not for Jimmy Herring.
