Jimmy Buffett on Tour

Jimmy Buffett is the tropical musician, songwriter and author known for "Margaritaville." Core groups of devoted fans known as Parrotheads follow him religiously. Jimmy's live concerts are soul-satisfying events, with many performed for charity. Jimmy, along with Toby Keith and Kenny Chesney, played a benefit concert for hurricane victims in Florida on November 19, 2017. Jimmy Buffett's biggest hits are "Margaritaville," "Changes in Latitude" and "Come Monday." Aside from his music, he is the author of three New York Times bestselling novels and a serial businessman with a large chain of restaurants, as well as minor league baseball teams, hotels and casinos, and officially licensed products of many types. In 2003, he won an award from the Academy of Country Music for his duet with Alan Jackson on "It's Five O'Clock Somewhere." Of his more than 30 albums released, eight are Gold and nine are Platinum or Multi-Platinum albums.

Jimmy Buffett in Concert

Jimmy Buffett Background Jimmy Buffett was born on Christmas Day, 1946 in Pascagoula, Mississippi and raised in Mobile, Alabama, getting involved in the band at a young age and picking up the guitar during college. Influenced by his grandfather, who was a sailor, and by country music while working for Billboard Magazine in Nashville, Jimmy tried to break into music in Nashville, but his sound did not mesh with the brand of country music popular in the 1970s. Jimmy then went to Key West and found his calling: good-time island music sometimes called "gulf and western." Jimmy honed his easygoing beach bum persona playing for drinks at the Chart Room Bar in Key West's Pier House Motel. When Jim Croce died unexpectedly in 1973, ABC/Dunhill Records called Jimmy to fill the void. He released albums regularly: 1973's A White Sport Coat and a Pink Crustacean; two in 1974, Living & Dying in 3/4 Time and A1A; followed by Havana Daydreamin' in 1976. His breakout album was 1977's Changes in Latitudes, Changes in Attitudes, which included the hit song "Margaritaville." Today, Jimmy is a major influence in both music and philanthropy. He often performs high-value benefit concerts for victims of natural disasters. R.I.P to Jimmy

    by Bex Jones on 1/3/24

I never got to see Jimmy as I just turned 16 this summer but I was raised on his music. My dad was going to take me to see him but he passed before we could go 😭. His music was an inspiration for me as an artist, and his attitude taught me to never give up on something if you love it and want it enough. He also taught me to be brave in times of struggle and hardship, To Jimmy in heaven: Jimmy I Love you man you taught me so much from your music you have genuinely impacted my life and i'm so grateful. R.I.P Jimmy you are a legend that was taken too soon and I will forever breathe in breathe out and move on because of you🌴🦜🍸🕠

I saw Jimmy was at Starlake amphitheater in Pittsburgh Pa. We had Lawn seats, and the atmosphere was Electric. It was my first time seeing Jimmy, I was amazed that he could bring that many people together and everyone got along because we collectively had a joy for his music. R.I.P Jimmy along with earl because we sold his Cadillac

    Sail on Sailor

    by Tara on 10/29/23

Knowing Jimmy will eventually disappear from my most recent searches on TM makes it so much more real. Thank you for the 30 shows we spent together. The strangers I met who eventually became friends all because of your music will never be forgotten. You'll be missed forever. Sail on Sailor enjoy that beach you always spoke about.

    So Much Fun

    by Amly on 10/2/23

How sad that I'll never be able to experience this again! Jimmy may not have been the best singer I ever saw or the most talented musician, but his show was the most FUN of any concert I've ever been to. He had the magical ability to transport a stadium full of fans to a tropical locale with the strum of a guitar. He leaves a void that will be nearly impossible to fill. Bubbles up.

Great to be back in Margaritaville

by MikeD on 5/31/23Snapdragon Stadium - San Diego

Snapdragon's first concert was a rescheduled Buffett show with Jason Mraz, from 10/22/22. Jimmy, Mac and The Coral Reefers sounded great. I've been to many a Buffett show. Always a great time. They sounded great. Mraz did a nice job warming up.
