New Jersey native Jim Norton is best known for his uniquepoint of view and outspoken humor. As a comedian he has toured the countryperforming in front of sold out crowds. He is a New York Times best-sellingauthor, radio personality, and television host. Each day Jim is listened to bymillions of devoted fans on the Opie & Anthony Radio Show for Sirius/XMRadio, which began over a decade ago in 1999. Jim is a re-occurring guest on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno andfrequents the late night talk show circuit as well with credits including TheLate Show with David Letterman and Jimmy Kimmel Live.
Jim's first book, HAPPY ENDINGS: The Tales of aMeaty-Breasted Zilch was published in July 2007. It spent several weeks on the bestsellerlist, which serves as a testament to his growing popularity. This New York Times best-seller is acollection of Jim's personal journal entries, raunchy sex stories, embarrassingstar sightings, and pathetic childhood memories. Jim's second book, I Hate Your Guts, alsobecame a New York Times best-seller upon its release in November 2008.
On television, Jim hosts HBO's Down and Dirty with JimNorton. Down and Dirty is a four-episode series showcasing new stand-up comedians. Jim was most recently seen in Monster Rain,his one-hour HBO stand-up show. He alsostarred in HBO's Lucky Louie as well as in Comedy Central's Tough Crowd withColin Quinn. As indicated above, he hasperformed on many of the late night talk shows and had a half-hour special onHBO's One Night Stand, and has been featured on both Jimmy Kimmel Live and LastCall with Carson Daly. Jim has severalcomedian friends as well, which is evident in his work and personal life. Artie Lange and Louis C.K. are friends and hewas featured in Jerry Seinfeld's 2002 documentary, Comedian, as well as aparticipant in The Roast of Bob Saget.
In addition to radio, books, TV and touring, Jim hasreleased two CD's of his stand-up comedy: 2002's Yellow Discipline and 2003'sTrinkets I Own Made From Gorilla Hands.
Jim's first inkling and inspiration to becoming acomedian came at age 12 when he saw Richard Pryor's special Richard Pryor: Livein Concert. He wound up in rehab at 17,dropped out of high school the next year, then started signing up for open-micnights at local bars at 21. Often peggedas an ‘angry comic' because of his raunchy brand of humor, Jim argues the onlylabels in comedy that truly matter are ‘funny,' ‘original,' and ‘hack.'
Jim has a very extensive career, but when he isn'ttouring the country and performing at well-known comedy clubs, Jim is anadmitted literature lover with Irish Poet and author Samuel Beckett. He also starred with Sandler in EIGHT CRAZYNIGHTS, THE WEDDING SINGER, HAPPY GILMORE, and YOU DON'T MESS WITH THE ZOHAN,which grossed $201 Million worldwide. Inaddition, Nealon starred with "Saturday Night Live" alumni David Spade, in JOEDIRT. His other film credits includeDADDY DAY CARE with Eddie Murphy, GOOD BOY with Molly Shannon, ROXANNE withSteve Martin, and the cult hit, GRANDMA'S BOY with Jonah Hill and NickSwardson.
Nealon is a familiar figure on television as well with anumber of guest appearances on "Monk", "Fat Actress", "Curb Your Enthusiasm"and "Still Standing."
