Way too lit and awesome I love her so much. That was amazing.
The second Jessie came out on stage last night she was all smiles. Even though her new album is called 'Dark Places' and clearly has a darker theme than 'Little Spark', Jessie herself is in a good place. She looked so at home on stage and was thrilled to be singing her heart out to an adoring crowd. The accompaniment from her band was lush, full and succinct. The vocals she shared with Courtney Jaye transported you to another time. Like sirens luring you into their secret world. It was magical. It also didn't hurt that Courtney actually called my name from the stage when she saw me. Jessie sang songs from both 'Little Spark' and 'Dark Places', a mix of light and dark but all rich and juicy in sound and emotion. She simply set the place ablaze. Here's hoping that she catches the world on fire. Jessie and Courtney both hung out after to talk to anyone who wanted and both were incredibly sweet and kind, as always. They are the salt of the earth kind of people.
Show was sold as 8pm....not until we got there did we find out she was playing at 10pm Couldn't stay on a weds night big disappointment....poor advertising
This was my 4th time seeing Jessie Baylin perform her songs from her new album, "Little Spark" and it was the best one yet. The new band and the addition of The Watson Twin's singing back up added a bigness to the show that wasn't there in previous sets. Not that that was a bad thing. In the past it was a smaller room, so it was a smaller sound. Now it was a bigger room, requiring a bigger sound which was easily achieved. Jessie's sound was lush. Her voice was full as she took command of the stage with ease, comfortability and confidence. When I listen to Jessie, I literally feel transported to another century. She's dreamy, smooth and heavenly. As good as she is on stage, Jessie is as sweet and kind. She stayed at the merch table almost the whole night signing posters, taking pictures and meeting fans. It was a great show and a great night.
The new album is fantastic and the songs become even more addictive when you see Jessie perform them live!
Jessie Baylin is an amazingly talented singer/songwriter. I encourage you to listen to her lyrics closely the next time you enjoy her music. Her show was pure pleasure, the band rocked her music & the Watson Twins contributed great depth to the vocal sound.
Jessie Baylin is a rising star. Her show is a must see. Her recent appearance on Leno was amazing!
The venue was awesome, large yet comfy ... and Jessie was absolutely fantastic! She is definately an up and coming star!!!
Jessie is a huge talent and the Bowery Ballroom was a awesome venue to see her perform. If you haven't downloaded her new album, you should. It is infectious.
The second Jessie came on stage, for the sold out show, after more than a year since she last performed it was a clear she hadn't lost a beep. Her talent is pure and spiritual. She has the ability to transport you to another time. Just you and her on the special rocket ship through the stars. So many times through the show she made me feel like I was the only one in the room with her. Not many people can do that and it was a special thing to be witness to. She song only new songs from her eagerly anticipated new album, "Little Spark" due out Jan. 17th 2012, and left her mark with the old diddy "Leave your Mark". Living in Tennessee has given her sound a bit of a southern twang but just enough to give attitude and mood. Jessie was simply fantastic and I can't wait to see her again.
