About

JERRY LEWIS LIVE:

Jerry Lewis is a comedic living legend with a long history of entertainment under his belt -- at 87 years old, the multitalented jokester takes the stage with the same vitality and charisma he possessed when he started over seven decades ago, sporting a classic black suit and a big grin. Whether he's performing animated stand-up routines, singing his hit "It All Depends on You," or sharing fond memories of yesteryear, Lewis proves he's an all-around entertainer, making audience members feel more like old friends than spectators. It's been over 70 years since he made his debut, but Lewis' humor and wit are still sharp as ever, and he'll have fans falling out of their seats on his latest tour.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Jerry Lewis has always had a knack for comedy, playing pranks on his neighbors at a young age and performing mime routines at 15. He launched his career in the late '40s, teaming up with Dean Martin for their comedy shows and earning a cult fan base along the way. During the '50s the duo achieved widespread success with live television appearances and their own comedic film series, but their newfound fame ultimately strained their friendship and led them to pursue solo careers. Since then, Lewis has acted in over  60 films, sung hit tracks like "Rock-A-Bye Your Baby With A Dixie Melody," performed in a number of Broadway musicals, and penned three novels.  Back on tour, the always-cheerful Lewis will have fans in amazement as he shares his many talents at his upcoming shows.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"At 87, Jerry is still sharp, funny, and full of love for his fans. The audience loved him and he loved being there!"

"It was so exciting for everyone in the audience to realize they were in a room with greatness. Jerry Lewis has and will always be THE undisputed king of comedy. Everyone else may come close but still pales in comparison...Jerry is still on top of his comedy and a true artist and humanitarian."

"It was fantastic to see Jerry Lewis grab laughs and roam through old memories. He's a national treasure."

    Jerry Lewis Live

by Cathy770 on 10/20/16St. George Theatre - Staten Island

He was spectacular. Jerry still has the ability to make you laugh at his one liners, jokes and laugh. His clips were awesome, so many funny memories. I was disappointed that he didn't sign my book. He didn't do any signing, it is understandable since he is 89.

    Jerry Lewis

by StatenIslandreviewer on 10/20/16St. George Theatre - Staten Island

It was a real disappointment. It was just about 60 minutes 45 minutes of which were clips from his telethons. One extremely long clip was him singing a song with his father and then singing the same song with his son. No questions were allowed from the audience. After seeing Whoopie Goldberg, Sophia Loren and Carol Burnett - in a similar format - their shows were all 2 plus hours, they took questions from the audience and certainly shared some really amazing stories. If you want to see Jerry Lewis buy his movies - it will be cheaper, you'll see the same clips he showed and you won't walk out of the theater felling you wasted your money.

    Disappointing

by JPPIANOMAN1356 on 10/19/16St. George Theatre - Staten Island

Jerry told a few corny jokes, some were funnier than others, and he showed some very funny clips, with Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis, and his Dad and his son Gary, among others. I'm sure I could have seen these same clips on youtube. I guess it's worth a few dollars to be able to say we saw him LIVE but there there was no interaction with the audience, other than when we laughed at (some of) the jokes. It would be nice if he would take questions from the audience.

Jerry Lewis still funny at 90!

by Bloomiebear on 10/19/16St. George Theatre - Staten Island

As a kid growing up with Jerry Lewis it was a nice experience seeing him perform. He's a legend. He showed old clips which was great to see. Brought back pleasant memories. Unfortunately, Jerry was only on stage for 1 hour where myself and the audience wanted more! I was also surprised that he didn't take any questions from the audience

As the movie title goes he is the "King of Comedy"

by TheSolidStateBand on 10/19/16St. George Theatre - Staten Island

If you're into old Hollywood stories & pics, if you like Jerry Lewis movies, if you want to see a true icon in the entertainment industry, then this is your show. Jerry had his stationary seat on stage and told interesting anecdotes, on a giant screen behind him showed some great clips (including of course Dean Martin, who he never referred to by name, only rather lovingly as "my partner"), and even told a few outright jokes. Saw him live at Westbury about 30 years ago. Real glad I got to see him on stage again so many years later. Just wish the show was longer than 70 minutes.

    Jerry Lewis is a legend

by ILoveJL on 10/19/16St. George Theatre - Staten Island

I enjoyed the show. However was disappointed that it was only 70 minutes and it was mostly previews of Jerrys past on the screen. I would of liked to hear him talk more and do his famous laugh more than he did. He did get very old but he's still JERRY LEWIS the funny man in my eyes! It was enjoyable. Again, should of been longer.

    It was ok

by jo324 on 10/19/16St. George Theatre - Staten Island

The show was very short. Only an hour. But, at 90 maybe that's all he can do. Funny jokes, great stories, nice clips.

    Amazing Evening with Jerry Lewis!

by ChristinaStGeorge on 10/19/16St. George Theatre - Staten Island

Arriving from Europe to see this show was a pleasure for sure My expectations were fully met and more. Mr. Lewis told one line jokes and showed small film clips from his long career I also have to mention the St. George Theatre, it is indeed one of the best looking theatres I have ever seen.
