    Amazing concert!!

    by aephiturtle270 on 12/28/12Birchmere - Alexandria

I really like the small venue, and the music was great. I like being able to meet with Jen and Margaret after the concert and get autographs. They were really personable and friendly, and they played a great show. Their on-stage chemistry was amazing! I would definitely recommend going to another one of their concerts, or any concert at the Birchmere! :)

    Still Got It

    by Animeron17 on 11/5/10Bluebird Theater - Denver

Ten years later she shows up, and what a privilege to see her! Ms. Knapp put on a charming show full of her well-crafted new tunes as well as a few oldies that even she had mostly forgotten. She had us help her out here and there when she would bomb through an old tune she hadn't played in years, which was endearing. It was a simple show, just Knapp and a guitar, but of course that was all she needed. I had never experienced a show that intimate and relaxed, such a great time! I would love to see her again.

    Jenn Knapp is Back!!

    by Stringbend12 on 10/28/10Bluebird Theater - Denver

After an absence of 10 years or so, and with the revelations of her personal life being the subject of much (sometimes heated) discussion, I wasn't certain what to expect from Jennifer Knapp. Her latest release ("Letting Go") is a great driving rock/folk offering, complete with Jenn's trademark thought-provoking lyrics but I still wondered how it would translate to a live performance, particularly an acoustic performance. More than that, I wondered how kind time had been to her voice, and to her stage presence. Would she be another talented musician who had been left behind by the waves of young guitar gunslingers that have shot to the top and sometimes faded just as quickly? I need not have worried. Jennifer Knapp is still as personable and engaging live as she was before her hiatus, she still plays guitar like a woman possessed, and she still sings with a tremendous heart, soul and an openness and vulnerability that grabs you by the throat, forcing you to pay attention. She may not have as extensive a repertoire at her fingertips right now as she once did, but I'd be willing to bet that is a temporary situation. What she has is 100% pure magic and it was worth waiting for. Jennifer Knapp is back full force and is definitely a force to be reckoned with!

    Without words

by Iddave on 10/28/10Bluebird Theater - Denver

While one of the lone males in the audience (maybe why Knapp is featured at the renewed Lillith fair) - I was so moved by both the raw talent and raw emotional honesty of KNapp's performance. Knapp has had a long hard road - but one that always yearned for integrity and honesty. It was an intimate settng to sing along with old songs even she admits to not singing for a decade, as well as her powerful new music. When Knapp somewhat reluctantly broke out some of her early hits - you could almost sense the continuing reconciliation of where she has been to where she is now It was a cathartic, comforting, magnificent experience.

    JKnapp was Awesome!

by JKnappFan on 9/21/10Coach House - Capistrano - San Juan Capistrano

The venue was so intimate, you felt like she was singing and playing just for you. She is such an amazing artist and her music really speaks to my heart. I listen to her new album all the time, but hearing it in person was just awesome! It was definitely worth the 6 hour drive from Phoenix to attend!!

    Jennifer Knapp was on fire!!!!

by FaithfulToMe on 9/10/10RED ROOM AT CAFÉ 939 - Boston

We have been huge Jennifer Knapp fans for a number of years. She has an amazing voice, plays the gutiar effortlessly, and writes songs which speak to the heart on a spiritual and personal level. While we had to wait outside Cafe 939 due to a fire alarm, we were not disappointed when Jennifer took the stage. She sang and played an acoustic mix of songs from her new album "Letting Go" and several of her older songs. She can rock out songs and really put on a great show. It was awesome to hear her sing "Martyrs & Thieves." We are so glad Jennifer is writing and playing music again and we look forward to more beautiful music from this very talented artist. What a great venue to listen to music; small and really made it seem more personel.

    Cafe 939 was sizzling!

by Missionarywannabe on 9/9/10RED ROOM AT CAFÉ 939 - Boston

I saw Jennifer Knapp in concert around 12 years ago (or whenever Kansas first came out), and the friends with me had seen her in 2003 right before she disappeared. We agreed that on both occasions she did not seem comfortable in her own skin. This time, able to be honest about her lesbian lifestyle, she related much more naturally to the audience. Jennifer Knapp is a phenomenally talented artist. Unfortunately the concert started late and ended early because of a fire in the building. I think she and the audience were just getting warmed up. Her lyrical prowess, husky vocals, exceptional guitar playing, and overall passion greatly touched me. Jennifer sang many songs from her new album but the songs from previous albums that convey the most brokenness: "Martyrs and Thieves," "A Little More," "The Way I Am," and "Undo Me." She tried to present herself as being at peace with her lesbian lifestyle, but her internal conflict over it was clear. However, her honesty was refreshing. What if the only difference between Jennifer Knapp and other Christians is honesty? My heart breaks for her in her struggle, and I am so grateful to her for sharing her music with us.
