Jello Biafra and the Guantanamo School of Medicine proved that punk is vibrant and political Friday night at the Lost Horizon in Syracuse. With constant reminders of the anarchistic nature of punk, calling for protest after protest of fracking, bank regulation, and politicians routinely ignoring campaign promises, Jello lorded over his faithful troops that stood enraptured by every word, The crowd did a lot of nodding of heads with Jello's between-song tirades, and a lot of head bobbing along with the frenetic energy of the Guantanamo songs. The mixed age crowd, from teens to near- retirees, felt young and invigorated by the musical cacophony.
