JEFF BRADSHAW IN CONCERT:
Trombone virtuoso Jeff Bradshaw has made a name for himself with his impressive playing skills and stylish, hip-hop influenced take on contemporary jazz. Bradshaw is known for collaborating with heavy-hitting vocalists, and he's often joined on stage by world-class singers as he brings his funky tunes to life. At his live shows laid-back tracks like "All Time Love" (ft. Robert Glasper, Eric Roberson, & Tweet) are perfectly complemented by uptempo jazz standards and Bradshaw's masterful trumpet solos, making for a dynamic concert experience anchored in phenomenal musicianship. Whether he's sharing the stage with a powerhouse vocalist, singing lead himself, or simply tearing through a mean instrumental set with his talented band, Bradshaw never fails to impress with his infectious energy, funky improvising, and vibrant personality on tour.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Philadelphia-born Jeff Bradshaw played horn and snare drum in his church's brass band before taking up the trombone in high school. After graduating he bounced between various odd jobs while honing his skills on the instrument, and by the mid-'90s he had linked up with several movers and shakers in the Philly music scene including DJ Jazzy Jeff and Questlove of The Roots. Before long he was an in-demand session player, recording with artists like Erykah Badu, Earth Wind & Fire, and Michael Jackson (to name a few) and touring with rising stars like Jill Scott. In 2003 he made his album debut with Bone Deep, an auspicious collection that blended jazz and hip hop and featured guest vocals by Scott and several others. Critics applauded Bradshaw's commitment to the trombone, noting that the album made inroads towards establishing the instrument as a key component in mainstream music. Bradshaw spent the next decade touring with his band and working as a session player, and in 2012 he released his highly anticipated sophomore album Bone Appetit. The record featured guest appearances by Raheem DeVaughn, Marsha Ambrosius, and Coko of SWV, drawing praise from critics for its dynamic soul jazz sound and warm production. Since then Bradshaw has continued to impress on tour with effortlessly cool performances that always set a perfect groove.

I love the small venue that held the show. The seats were terrible, old and uncomfortable. The sound was terrific as well as the performers. However, Althea Rene was billed, but did not appear.
Jeff was crazy cool. We were celebrating my sister's 40th and she had a blast. We always do the summer concerts at Marble House because they attract some great guests. I think this is going to be a tradition.
The opening performer Trey Daniels stole the show. Kenny Lattimore's performance demonstrated that he is truly a talented and gifted musician. My husband and I had a good time. The venue was good as well.
First time seeing most of the artist... they all did awesome performance.. and weather was beautiful... enjoyed it very much
Excellent venue for music lovers. The instrumental performances were great. We sat in the seats, not the lawn. One area for improvement is the sound system for the singers. Their voice/word clarity was overshadowed by the music/band. We left before the end of the last singer and was surprised the sound was better in the parking lot. Overall, it was still a great night! I look forward to shows next year!
I had a great time and the artist were phenomenal!!
Great show.. if you ever get the chance it's a must see!
Gerald Veasley put together a seemingly odd mix of talented musicians who meshed perfectly and made for an unforgettable evening. Listening to Oli Silk was like getting a massage - at first, that is - and then he revved it up. Jeff Bradshaw was great as usual, and Eric Darius blew the place up. Combined with Gerald and his band, the show was fantastic.
