    Phenominal

    by PeggyO on 1/6/24

This review is very late. I was tickled that 2 of my favorite singers of all time (Janis Ian & Livingston Taylor) were performing on my birthday only 45 minutes from my home in MA. Tom Chapin was also a very good performer. The entire evening was riveting and I only wish I could do it all over again. I am submitting this review for the sole purpose of Janis & Livingston reading it (hopefully) so that I can thank them for a lifetime of beautiful music which I have enjoyed since I was a young teenager. I used to collect their albums and listen endlessly to them. It amazes me how they have both ONLY IMPROVED with age. Thank you both! I attended the April 23, 2022 concert in Lynn, MA but have attended concerts for each of you individually.

    Short-Sighted Venue

    by M on 5/15/22Goodyear Theater - Akron

As expected, the music was lovely! It is shameful that the venue did not make ANY effort to protect this largely older crowd from Covid transmission at a time when transmission is accelerating again. The simple requirement of proof of vaccine or a negative test AND mask-wearing would not have detered attendance! Might well have increased it. Unfortunately the performers were prevented from insisting on this protection. They are no longer allowed to weigh in on the situation. Being elderly themselves (Rush having had Covid in 2020), they likely would have voted for protection for themselves and us. Won't be attending concerts at the Goodyear again. Public health not a priority for them.

    Janis

by Kathy on 5/15/22Goodyear Theater - Akron

The venue was perfect, allowing for an intimate audience experience. Janis Ian is a consummate artist. As a singer and songwriter, she has few peers. She performed a combination of old favorites and newer work that left me satisfied, yet wanting more. It was a wonderful concert!

    Evening with an icon

by Pops on 5/13/22Scottish Rite Auditorium - Collingswood

One of the most spectacular concerts I have ever attended. I wasn’t fully knowledgeable of Janis Ian’s catalogue but boy oh boy, she is a performer. A genius. A real human being. Her songs really touched me deeply. And Tom Chaplin and Livingston Taylor were fantastic as well

    INCREDIBLE NIGHT

by NORWAY GIRL on 5/11/22Ocean City Music Pier - Ocean City

my absolute favorite artist is playing in her last tour...Janis Ian, and I traveled 2 hours each way in hurricane like weather (in gale force winds and 3 inches of rain) to see her at Ocean City Music Pier last Friday night. I had to bring a wheelchair and my 71 year old husband to help because I broke my foot. The venue was comfortable and accessible despite it's age. If it had been pleasant weather the views would have been amazing. The concert was wonderful. I have been a fan of hers since 1974. Her voice is still pure and her guitar playing is insanely good...and her activist voice (while comically subdued, is still active). She is 71 also, BUT it isn't hard to image her to be 25 younger 😃. She looks like a kid with short white hair LOL. I do recommend her in her last concert tour and this venue for concerts

    “More than I bargained for”

by JoanieD on 5/9/22Ocean City Music Pier - Ocean City

What an incredible triple lineup. Tom Chapin, Livingston Taylor and Jans Ian. Great voices. Songs that told stories, songs that made me laugh songs and made me cry and all so personable. I wished I could share all of it with everyone I know.

Janis Ian sends waves of memories through Ocean City

by Iambelle on 5/9/22Ocean City Music Pier - Ocean City

Janis Ian sends waves of memories through Ocean City Music Pier Had the distinct pleasure of watching Janis Ian, Livingston Taylor and Tom Chapin in concert last night at the Music Pier from the front row with my daughter! Tom was the voice of my childhood (Make A Wish on TV) and on CD’s for my kids. He was thrilled to hear this! So many memories come to life, and I got to share it with her. 💕 We, of course, got all caught up in the moment when he sang his brother Harry’s “Cat’s in the Cradle”. Livingston cracked us up with his stories and we teared up at his gentle rendition of Over the Rainbow. 🌈 His melodic voice seemed to soothe the blustery evening outside. He could sing the phone book, as if we still had them! Lol The highlight of the evening was sitting up front to see incredibly talented guitarist & singer/songwriter Janis Ian work her magic. My daughter and I cried at the poignance of “At 17” together. Ah those teen years! This really warmed my heart. Then to top off the night, the artist gave me her guitar pick at the end of the performance! I was so touched. We had no idea that Janis Ian was from Lakewood/Farmingdale in NJ. She could’ve had a rest stop named after her! :)) After the show, we talked to each of the performers at length to tell them how they were such a big part of our lives and my teenage heart smiled all night long.

    you go girl!

by Barbara on 5/9/22Scottish Rite Auditorium - Collingswood

First of all, this is the best venue for this type of performance. My friends and i had the worst seats in the house and heard every note and every word. Tom Chapin and Livingston Taylor were very good. Janis was amazing. You still have the pipes, girl! I loved her stories and her sincerity. When she talked about her gratitude, I counted my blessings. Enjoy the next verse of your life, Janis, we will miss you.
