A great one man show. Keeps your attention during the entire production.
Really enjoyed this one man show from Chris Lemmon, son of Jack Lemmon. I found out a lot of things I had not known about Jack. Chris is a very talented actor and piano player and the piano music throughout contributed to the enjoyment of the show. If you like learning about Hollywood, actors and their lives you will definitely enjoy this show.
Chris Lemmon WAS his father. The Hotshot had the voice, inflections and gestures down pat. We LOVED the show!
but he has with this one act reminiscence of his dad. The anecdotes, the music, the impersonations, the raw emotion bowled us over. We're planning to see it again after it returns from Laguna to see how it's been tweaked. Suggestions: Credit the music played before Chris starts. We were stumped -- Mancini, Kaempfert, Montavani. Remove materials that drag the show and don't interest the audience (French actor homage). Consider adding more about Harvard and what there impacted the actor he became, more about audience favorites like Some Like It Hot and Ensign Pulver, and definitely more impressions. Agree with ChiTrib more of Chris needs to be added ... maybe via his dad talking about Hotshot. Is this Off-Bwy Bound or being shaped up for an HBO Special?
If you love film from the 50's AND the wonderful personality of Jack Lemmon, you will LOVE his son's portrayal. He remembers his father's persona with great accuracy (as to be expected) and shares his heart with great honesty. The review of his career highlights the ocar-winning performances though no mention of the great television in Tuesdays with Morrie. The music was great fun as was the storytelling!
Christopher Lemmon mimics his father's mannerisms (a bit too much) and attempts to relate his father's life, but in fact reflects his own feelings about his father's life in this edited version. Christopher Lemmon is personable, and this was pleasant but not moving or enlightening in any way.
Chris Lemmon brings Jack Lemmon back to life. His acting, mannerisms, gestures, voice, and laughter are Jack to a "T".
My parents always watched on TV everything with Jack Lemmon in it when I was a child. It warmed my heart to remember him and to learn more about him and his life, raising Chris, and all. I recommend this to anyone who wants a stroll down memory lane.
If you've enjoyed Jack Lemmon as an actor and his movies you will enjoy Jack Lemmon Returns. His son does a great job of portraying his father. The time goes by extremely fast. Was only an hour and 20 minutes. Wish it was longer. Also it would have been nice he Chris would have some of Jack Lemmon's movie clips instead of just photographs. Get HOTTIX! Always available.
