JP, Chrissie & The Fairground Boys were great. I love the band. JP's voice was great and he is a cutie. Chrissie is wonderful. She still has a very sexy voice and she is sooo cool!!!! She made the show feel so personal. I loved it!!!! And then for them to play a Moby Grape song on the onchore Rocked. Jerry Miller from Moby Grape lives near Seattle. Had he known he might have shown up. I love the venue. The sounds were Great!!! I will definately go see JP, Chrissie & The Fairground Boys again, if they ever come back. I hope they dooooo!!!

    Okay, but not great

by dhaun on 10/21/10Commodore Ballroom - Vancouver

Okay, so I mostly came for the opening act (Amy Correia - 4 stars for her) and didn't really know what to expect from the main act. "Okay, but not great" pretty much summarizes what I thought about The Pretenders and it extends to this band. Some nice songs, certainly not boring but nothing for me to get excited about. Okay for a night's entertainment if you happen to be in the city and have nothing better to do. Having said that: What almost ruined the mood was Chrissie's insistence on not being photographed. Which resulted in her hiding behind the other musicians at times and even giving the finger to some of the more insistent photographers. Granted, those really should have put the camera down but you have to wonder what's with the attitude.
