Great show. Would see again! Arrangement of songs kept my attention
It was very nice . I felt save and there were police in the parking lot on watch which made me feel safe. Also it started and ended at a good time . People that worked it were really nice . Enjoy if 100%.
Music and atmosphere was awesome!! I hadn’t really heard JJ before but I did recognize a couple of song. Would love to see him again
JJ Grey puts on the most amazing show ever!!! From the awesome music/musicians to his interaction with the audience, couldn't ask for any more.
This was my fourth JJ Grey show. Absolutely the best of the four Great energy and Sound ….really love the band. Sound and vocals were much more expensive than the other three shows Judith Hill opened and absolutely crushed it Loved the Fillmore. Amazing sound The staff was really good. We really appreciated them Especially the team upstairs managing the seats. Thank you for a great night
Unbelievable band and storytelling to match. JJ has an incredible voice and everyone in his band is smiling all the time. It feels like a gift to see him live.
JJ Grey's nine-person show wowed a packed house. Six of the songs played were from the new album "Olustee"and they fit right in with the more familiar favorites. The addition of two women singing backup/harmony on many songs created an extra dimension to the sound. The band played for over two hours without any real breaks, save about five minutes between the main show and the encore. We love the way JJ gives everyone on stage a chance to shine and be recognized, and the whole band absolutely nails every track live, from the leering swamp funk of "On Fire"(not to mention the new "Rooster") to the hymn-like "The Sun Is Shining Down"and the contemplative "The Sea". The crowd hung on every word - and sang along to it all. We had GA tickets and the floor was pretty packed, so we opted to stay off to the side. The crowd was mostly our age - fortysomething/fiftysomething with a few boomers and Z'ers also enjoying the show. Sight lines and sound are great at this venue - even way off to the side of the stage we could see everything going on and hear the band well. That said, the size of the crowd meant people constantly bumping us, crowding in front of us for a few songs then leaving, etc. I'm not complaining - it's a concert, this is the way things go - but the obliviousness of some of the crowd was disappointing. The staff at the venue were friendly and helpful. From the bar staff to the users to security, we felt welcome and comfortable the whole time.
JJ Grey and his band were unbelievable, he played for 2 1/2 hrs straight belting out song after song this was the 3rd time seeing him and his band perform, and was probably one of the best shows I have ever seen and Ive been to a lot of concerts
The BEST live show we’ve seen in years! LOVE JJ Grey and Mofro! His amazing soulful voice, the lyrics, the horns, and the whole sound together is just awesome! The sing-alongs and dancing made for such a fun night. We wanna go again!
I’ve been seeing JJ Grey and Mofro for years now. And like a fine wine, they keep getting better in time…. Their performance at The State Theatre in Portland, Maine was yet another great show. The band was tight!! And JJ was on point. I really like how he played the whole new album throughout the course of the night. And took to time to explain the meanings and background content to much of the new album. It really brings the new album around full circle. And he sprinkled in a bunch of his other big hits as well. But of course I wish he would have played more or his bigger songs, but that’s just me being greedy and selfish. LOL!!
