Plenty of warmth, great singing and good intentions, but the actors kept missing their lines and one of the lead characters, played by gospel singer Shirley Murdock, repeatedly confused the names of her two sons. (No, it wasn't for comic effect). Next time, how about some rehearsals before the paying customers arrive? My wife liked it anyway, but the misfires spoiled it for me..
This play was very warm and entertaining. The singing, humor, and theme were all great.
I saw this wonderful holiday show last year in Detroit and am soooo happy that it's coming to NY & NJ on Dec 16-18 this year. We laughed so hard & even had a few tears, I definitely recommend this holiday comedy musical for the entire family. Uncle Charlie is hilarious and now with Freddie Jackson as the Bishop, his stage wife Shirley Murdock & Lisa Page who's scheming to be the next First Lady... is just the best way to start your holidays.
