We attended the last performance of "If You Give A Mouse A Cookie" with our two grandchildren and thoroughly enjoyed it. All three characters did a great job, but the mouse was the highlight. She was so animated that it was hard to take your eyes off of her. Her performance kept even the littlest ones in the audience glued to her every move. And I have to admit, my eyes were glued to her too. Great show. Great fun.
Set was so well done. Actors did a really great job. The young man was very expressive. Great start for my two grandsons. Hoping they will learn to enjoy live theater.
This book series is one of my son's favorites. And the price on the tickets was good enough that my family of four could go without breaking the bank. I really liked seeing the show at the Riffe Center, a nice intimate space and a good view from every seat. The play itself was very sweet and cute. It was simple and an excellent introduction to theatre for a 7 and 3 year old. Both children enjoyed the show, and we recommend it to anyone with kids. I also thought it was great that the cast went out to the atrium for pictures with families after the show. That was extremely cool.
We laughed until we cried. What an incredible performance. Acting was "over the top" good. Hated to see it end. Would have love to take cast home (for cookies and milk, of course). Our six- and eight-year-old boys (who loved the book) were grinning from ear to ear from start to finish. A wonderful family event. The expansion of the story from the book was masterful. Can't remember a more enjoyable afternoon in the theater!
Loved it! It was so cute and the actors were phenomenal!! My 6 year old thoroughly enjoyed it and it was just the right length!!
A veriy cute play for children. Did not live up to its name. If you give a Mouse a Cookie and Other Story Books. Where are the "Other Story Books"? Too short for the money. It was only one act, one set , no live music and way too much money. 45 minutes or maybe even less as they started late. The actors gave it their all. My 5 year old grandson did like it. It was his first play. He loved getting autographs afterwards.
My seven year old was thrilled with this show, as she's always been a fan of the book. Although the audience had much younger children who seemed a little overwhelmed with the costumes, the performers were wonderful, and my daughter laughed at nearly every joke. Nicely written and executed. Would recommend shortening the jungle skit.
Wonderful experience for young children. Our 4 yr old was on the edge of his seat and followed every move. Our 9 yr old found out how a live performance can resinate with an audience and thought about what it would be like to be one of the actors. Maybe we'll get to directing the next time we go.
My 5 yr old and I really enjoyed the show. Venue is a small theater - probably seats about 200. We were fairly close to the stage but I don't think there is a bad seat in the house. Was curious how a short book could be turned into a show. Lasted about 45 minutes. We laughed a lot. Would recommend for 3-5 yr olds.
