    Garbage, so disappointed

by MillionsPerAThought on 6/16/11B.B. King Blues Club and Grill - New York

Just terrible.... Res and Talib Kweli should have had separate sets and only SOME songs together to promote their group. They usually have sooo much soul in their songs, but now it seems they have streamed into "money making radio music." Plus, I feel as though the show was reeeeally short.

Waiting outside for an hour made me very upset. Not sure who's at fault. I would guess BB King's.

    Dope

by FarFetchedFuture on 2/13/11Music Hall of Williamsburg - Brooklyn

Show was amazing. Never thought I would ever get the chance to meet Talib, Res or Dead Prez - been listening to them since middle school.

    Res is gorgeous~

by Elizzoh on 2/13/11Music Hall of Williamsburg - Brooklyn

With three levels (including the basement), there isn't a bad "seat" in MHOW. The sound quality was great. I would definitely come back to this venue. Res was absolutely beautiful!

    I love Dead Prez!

by Cheezees on 2/12/11Music Hall of Williamsburg - Brooklyn

The evening started off with the Wellington Papers. I was unfamiliar with their music but they were good performers even though I am not a fan of their genre. Their enthusiasm and "likability" will ensure them loyal fans. Next was Ninjasonik. I, and many others, could have done without them. Unexpected crowd surfing, lame and childish lyrics about wanting "to fuck" - their words, not mine and inviting women on stage to engage in gender debasing "dancing" - I wouldn't have been surprised if they had asked them to take their tops off. All of this lends credibility to the fact that they are neither good lyricists nor performers. They need tons of gimmicks if they are to make it anyway. Reminds you of guys on the corner making lewd comments that make women cringe. Res and Talib Kweli? - Amazing!!!!! Res' voice is like magic. A great live performer. You will respect her as an artist. I'm in love with Talib Kweli so let's not even go there. The guy can do no wrong. Black Apple was charming. He's an excellent rapper with noteworthy lyrics. I knew none of his songs and yet I really enjoy him. Usually unknown raps are a doozie to listen to but not this guy!! I can't wait for more from him. He really grew on me. Dead Prez - I came for them and they did not disapppoint!!! Stickman's shout out to his wife was touching. This is the 4th time I've seen them live. I love them!!! Overall this concert was great. I had a front row view and met a couple of great people as well.
