Ice Cube on Tour
These days, Ice Cube appears more in movies as an actor than as a musician putting down new records, but he still finds time to tour a stage show that's filled with some of the biggest hits in hip-hop history. Ice Cube's library of songs pulls from all of the projects that he's helped take to the top. The West Coast legend can mix it up with jams like "Straight Outta Compton" from his days with N.W.A., "Bow Down" and "Gangsta Nation" from the Westside Connection supergroup songbook and, especially, unmistakable cuts from his solo canon like "Check Yo Self" and "It Was a Good Day." An Ice Cube live show is like a trip through rap history's most pivotal moments, because Cube has been there for it all. Whether he's playing Staples Center in Los Angeles or a casino amphitheater across the country, this is gangster rap in its purest form, from the man who rallied a generation around questioning the sociopolitical system three decades ago — and he's still a damn fine entertainer on stage.
Ice Cube in Concert
In 1969, O'Shea Jackson was born in South Central Los Angeles. He formed the original gangster rap group N.W.A. in 1987 with Dr. Dre, MC Ren, Eazy-E, Arabian Prince and DJ Yella. They released their debut album, Straight Outta Compton, the following year and became arguably rap music's biggest stars. A hip-hop renaissance man to say the least, Ice Cube has gone on to release 10 solo albums (five are platinum certified), and he's sold over 20 million albums worldwide. As an actor, he's starred in films like Boyz n the Hood, Higher Learning and Barbershop, and he's produced and starred in the entire Friday and Ride Along movie franchises. He even coproduced the 2015 N.W.A. biopic with Dr. Dre. As if his stardom needed any more validation, in 2017 he received a star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame.
So glad i bought tickets. Ice Cube was great! Xzibit was great too!
There is no need to make this a long review because there are not enough words so I'll use these: don't miss the next Krush Groove hosted by KDay and hopefully featuring Ice Cube and Scarface again !
So great to see all the artists from my youth perform and take us way back when rap music was good. This era of jams will never get old and it's refreshing to experience it in person! My sisters and I had a blast, truly great show. Thank you Kday and all the artist for a great show. One for the books for sure.
I have always loved Cube and WC. I truly wish him and Mack would resolve their issue. I miss the Westside Connect music. The tension was felt by each artist.
Ice cube always delivers!! 10/10 performances by everyone!!
Had a great time great music awsome crowd, I will come back next year
The performers did well but I wish the audio engineers balance the sound better. He or she was way off with balancing the vocals and the bass. They really fumbled this one. Also I saw a lot of random people walking behind the performers which was a little odd you don't know what they were doing back there but it took away from the focus.
It was a great concert but I was disappointed that Westside Connection didn't perform knowing that Ice Cube, WC, and Mack 10 were in the same venue. I'm a big fan of Westside connection. So it was very disappointing as a fan that they still have beef after all these years.
Omg I love Them please come Back to the Bay!! I seen them in Reno and Had so much Fun hopefully I get to meet them one Day before I leave this Earth!
It was good. We were in standing room you have to get there early to get a good spot it’s all one level. We got a good spot so I can’t complain.
