by SongandDanceGirl on 12/14/16Von Braun Center Concert Hall - HuntsvilleI had never been to see the Nutcracker before and just read the story for the first time with my daughter before seeing this show. Their interpretation was excellent and the production was well executed. My 6 year old daughter loved it and so did I!
Rating: 5 out of 5 The Nutcracker - Fabulous
by Mizzmama on 12/14/16Von Braun Center Concert Hall - HuntsvilleMy daughter, grand-daughter and I attended for the first time in several years and really enjoyed the performance. The choreography has been greatly improved over the years, and the dancing was done to perfection. We especially were pleased that a friend of my grand-daughters was dancing the role of Cavalier that day (Truman Lemire), and he was just perfect and amazed us with his athletic ability.
Rating: 5 out of 5 The Nutcracker was amazing

Rating: 5 out of 5 Surprise Christmas Gift
by emt4jesus on 12/13/16Von Braun Center Concert Hall - HuntsvilleI took my wife to the Nutcracker as a surprise Christmas gift. She had wanted to go for years but we never had the opportunity. This was her first experience with any kind of ballet performance and she was excited and moved by the experience. She especially enjoyed how children were incorporated into the performance. For me, it had been many years since I had been to the ballet but this performance was as good as any I had seen in my youth both in the USA and in Europe. The music was fantastic and the dancers were skilled and breath taking to watch. Both my wife and I are Army brats so it was especially heart warming to the reunion of a Marine and I believe, his mother at the end of the performance. Overall, it was the right performance to introduce the ballet to my wife. We were both captivated with the music and dancers and can't wait to attend another performance of the Huntsville Ballet.

by Justafanalso on 12/18/15Von Braun Center Concert Hall - HuntsvilleWe were very impressed with the performance of the Nutcracker and the Huntsville Symphony Orchestra. It was a very enjoyable evening and we will be there again next year.
Rating: 2 out of 5 The Symphony was excellent!
by Anonymous on 12/16/15Von Braun Center Concert Hall - HuntsvilleFor the money I paid, my family and I feel that the production was very amateurish. The adaptation to Antebellum Huntsville did not work. The two main professional dancers were excellent, but surrounded by students. Overall it was disappointing.
Rating: 2 out of 5 Nutcracker wasn't impressed!
by Robke on 12/16/15Von Braun Center Concert Hall - HuntsvilleI had seen the Nutcracker in Birmingham several years ago and I loved it. I bought tickets for me and my daughter hoping she would love it as much as I did. I was surprised at the level of dancing. There were only about 5 ballet dancers that were worth seeing. The group dancing was never in sync. The special guests at the party scene was just a distraction. I would not pay that much money to see it again.

Rating: 5 out of 5 the Huntsville Ballet Company's "The Nutcracker"
by JD99Fraser on 12/15/15Von Braun Center Concert Hall - HuntsvilleMy family greatly enjoyed the performance. My three-year-old spent half the time inspired to dance in the aisle. We attended the Saturday matinee so luckily she had room to swing, twirl and pirouette without disturbing anyone in the audience. As soon as she turned 3, she began taking lessons at the Little Gym in Huntsville and her teacher was in the ballet company so she was anxious to see him perform. After the intermission, she was mesmerized by the dancers and could not sit down most of the time. My 11-year-old son, enjoyed the acts prior to intermission, but resorted to his mobile games part of the time as the story gives sway to predominantly dance, so he lost his interest, but he didn't complain as we left and saying he actually enjoyed the performance. That was itself a compliment to the performers. We all loved the cute sugar- plums coming out of the bakers oven and the cute sheep performers. The female lead dancer was particularly wonderful, the male suffered repetitive stumbles during his first solo so was a bit flat overall. The primary fight between the mice and Nutcracker was entertaining and well performed.
