About

HUNDRED WATERS IN CONCERT:

Art rock darlings Hundred Waters are masters of sonic nuance and texture, and their ambitious fusion of folk and experimental electronica is truly something to behold live. In concert the band combines traditional instruments and lush vocal harmonies with  digital glitches, field recordings, and pitch-shifted samples to create a soaring, spiritual sound world that builds from a whisper to a soaring climax. Hundred Waters are signed to Skrillex's OWSLA label, but their music is a far cry from EDM -- the hymnal tranquility of songs like "Murmurs" and "Caverns" defy categorization and never fail to mesmerize, ensuring ticket buyers a truly transformative concert experience.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Hundred Waters was formed in Gainesville, FL in 2011 by a trio of middle school friends who later became University of Florida classmates. While in school they met fellow student and Australian vocalist Nicole Miglis, and before long she moved in to the house they shared. All under one roof, the foursome began writing and recording material, and the result was their self-titled 2012 debut album. The record was a critical success, drawing them out for their first US tour that included a high-profile performance at Austin's SXSW. Their performances attracted the attention of superstar DJ and producer Skrillex, who signed them to his OWSLA label and re-released the album in late 2012, leading to a flurry of critical attention and blog buzz. The band spent the next several years touring the country, penning most of their sophomore album either while on the road or holed up in a Skrillex-owned warehouse in Los Angeles's Chinatown. The result was 2014's The Moon Rang Like a Bell, a sparkling release that landed at No. 18 on CMJ's Top 200 chart and made them an in-demand headlining act in the US and Europe. Renowned for both their recordings and inventive live shows, Hundred Waters continue to impress with their brilliant blend of electronic and acoustic elements in concert.

The breakdown: -her voice is out of this world, amazing. -the lights and visual effects created a mood within a moment. -guitar rifts to keep it fresh during the melodic ride. -overall, such an experience to be sure, that I got lost down the rabbit hole several times. -go.

Hundred waters made it worth the freeze

by listenstomusic on 3/8/15Music Hall of Williamsburg - Brooklyn

We recently saw Hundred Waters at Music Hall of Williamsburg. They were so good! They really sounded tight and performed. It was an icy night in New York and we really thought about missing the show but we're so glad we went. The venue was heated to a really cozy level and again, the band really brought it.

This show was absolutely unforgettable - a great light show, incredible virtuosic musicians, and a phenomenal lead singer. They speed up some of the songs, making it fun to dance to as well as an incredible auditory experience. The Moon Rang Like A Bell was one of my favorite albums of 2014, but the live show brings it to a new level. JEEESH go buy tix now
