Season Pass - unlikely to work out for you

by BeeFiftyTwo on 7/24/13House Of Blues - Atlantic City

The concept seems great - two tickets to each show, no worries about having to order for individual shows, VIP treatment. But in practice the Season Pass leaves much to be desired. I had it for the Spring season because there were several bands that I wanted to see, plus others that I figured I could sell on Craigslist or whatever. First of all, you have to go in person starting at 4 PM on the day of the show to pick up the tickets. So, if you're planning on selling them you still have to go to the box office and get them personally. When you order the Pass they send you some cheezy VIP plastic lanyard thing, which has nothing on it to identify you personally. When I went to pick up my tickets, there were problems EVERY TIME. Sometimes they couldn't print them - why weren't they printed out in advance? Sometimes they just would go away for ten minutes before coming back to the window, telling me that I needed to come back later. Sometimes they wanted to see the stupid plastic VIP badge along with my driver's license, which makes no sense at all...they have to look my name up on the list to see that I am a season pass holder, are they going to not give me my tickets because I am missing the VIP badge? The only thing it does for you is it lets you skip the line to get in, but since you've got GA standing tickets, it's not like it matters. Maybe you could run up to the very front if you get there when the doors open, but it's honestly not that big of a deal. They keep decreasing the value of this. When I first saw it, it came with VIP check-in at the Showboat and use of the Diamond-level lines in the casino and a few other perks. When the spring season pass went on sale, they had watered down the VIP stuff to almost nothing. Now I see that they have raised the price a hundred bucks, which makes it harder to get your money's worth because it is unlikely you will want to go to every show. You can't sell the tickets on StubHub because you won't actually have them in hand until two hours before the show. The included food vouchers are good, no way I was able to use them all because we didn't go to all of the shows. I feel like I broke even on this money-wise, but all the wasted time and effort to sell tickets (I was only able to work it out for one show) and fighting with the box office every time I went to a show....I'll be skipping this for the rest of my life.
