The venue was great, and the bands were amazing! It’s been years since I’ve been to a show where I was entertained the whole time, and the energy was tremendous.
HWM!! Always always put on an amazing show. Just wish they had played some older stuff and for longer. Such a clean harmonious group of talented musicians.
I see them every time they come to NY. They always give 100%. Every member is so talented. Very underrated band!
The venue itself was clean, safe, and rather unique; a concert hall in the middle of a quaint little town? That's rare. The first band, the Menzingers, were quite energetic and what they lacked in complexity they made up for with emotion. The dual vocal approach was impressive and they sounded great. La Dispute was the second act, and they blew me away completely. It was the most emotional concert experience of my life. The vocals were fantastic and the lyrics were elegant. The musicianship was decent, but nothing special. Hot Water Music came on last, but the crowd had thinned out a good bit after La Dispute and after a few songs I followed suit. They were passionate, yes, but there was nothing especially striking about their lyrics, their musicianship, or their sound in general. They had amazing equipment though!
The Menzingers were amazing live. Of course La Dispute was perfect, the crowd was full of energy and the venue was perfect.
Hot Water Music never disappoints! Love the energy they bring to every show and the love they show their fans. Not many artists take the time to hang out and chat after shows, but all these guys are so friendly and appreciative. Did I mention Chuck is the hottest man alive?.....
This show was incredible - No Trigger, Transit, and Hot Water Music played their hearts out to a very receptive crowd. The venue was ideal for the show, and the music was incredible.
The first time I seen Hot Water Music was Warped Tour 99 in Pontiac and they played a small stage in the back. Their set was so unforgettable that it changed my taste in music completely. They just slayed the Detroit show on Monday with every song from "Alachua" to "Remedy" was just like hearing the first time. The crowd was insane also, kids were jumping off speakers and stage diving all over the place. Amazing show, if you have never seen these guys live your missing out on a legendary punk band that fills their set with most desire and devotion then any band I have ever seen.
I forgot my troubles and crushed my bones and I would do it again and again and again.
