About

Nu-disco powerhouse Holy Ghost! are masters of the arpeggio-driven Eurodisco revival currently holding sway in dance clubs around the world. Combining elements of Italo, Hi-NRG, and synthpop, the duo's glittering productions pay homage to underground '80s dance music without being stuck in the decade — top-notch modern production techniques and an ear for pop vocal hooks land bangers like "Hold My Breath" and  "Bridge and Tunnel" squarely in the new millennium. Hitting the road with a full backing band in support of 2013 sophomore album Dynamics, Holy Ghost! promise to inspire plenty of late night dancing on their 2014 tour dates.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Formed from the ashes of NYC hip hop group Automato, Holy Ghost! emerged in 2007 after founders Nick Millhiser and Alex Frankel decided to pursue a poppier sound with vocals. The result was their DFA-released debut single "Hold On," a sizzling Italo disco number that earned them a fast following among  alternative dance music enthusiasts. After several years of lauded remixes and non-album singles, the duo released their self-titled full-length debut in 2011 to a heap of praise from critics and fans alike. 2013 follow-up album Dynamics contained another stellar collection of shimmering dance tracks, building anticipation for a tour in 2014.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"They were amazing. The crowd was so connected to the band, dancing singing and stomping along with every dance-infected beat."

"Every song that should be heard live off their debut LP... was in the performance, and they were all catchy, fun to dance to, and gloriously recreated live."

"If you like to get dancey, go see these guys play."

Holy Ghost! killed it the other night. Crowd went wild when "Do it Again" came on. Then the encore with "Dumb Disco Ideas" was pure bliss. One of my favorite shows of 2014 thus far.

    Holy Ghost! are terrible live

by Holyghostfan on 4/7/14Webster Hall - New York

As much as I like Holy Ghost!'s music, they are terrible live. They need to fire whoever sets up their sound at shows. Nick Millhiser's voice is constantly drowned out by the band. I don't recommend seeing them live.

    Can't believe it was free!

by JayMiranda on 4/7/14The Sinclair - Cambridge

Absolutely awesome line-up. Kid Mountain was a great opener and Joywave set the stage perfectly for Holy Ghost! to bring the house down. Had a blast!

    Small crowd, big show

by CroweM on 11/12/13A and R Music Bar - Columbus

Holy Ghost! was great. I love their records so much that I tried to keep my expectations low but they were excellent. The sound was amazing, the band was tight and engaging. Attendance was a little low but you really would not have known it from observing the band. They even commented that the audience was great and the best of their tour so far.

    They are amazing!

by Cornetto on 11/6/13Theatre of Living Arts - Philadelphia

They're authentic, new, fresh, yet bring you back to 80's and a bit of disco times. It's love at first song for me. Really good live too. Make you feel like it's your party and thy're there for you. I see millions loving them in near future, glad I caught them in a tiny club just before that. :)

    Holy Ghost! - Epic!!

by Toby51067 on 11/5/13Theatre of Living Arts - Philadelphia

I discovered these guys as the opening act for "New Order" at the beginning of the summer. For the most part I tend to ignore opening acts, but with every song they played I kept going 'Wow, these guys are really good'. After the show though, I forgot to do any research and kind of lost track. I then rediscovered them when listening to Rhapsody's 'Best Electronic Music of 2013' mix list while on a road trip. The list had their latest single 'Dumb Disco Ideas' on it, and as soon as I heard it I said "Who IS this?!?" and kept it on repeat for a couple hours until I reached my destination. I then looked them up and conected the dots about them and New Order. Next day I bought both their CDs and loved them even more. I was hooked and to my pleasant surprise, found that they had an upcoming show in Philly. They were amazing. The crowd was so connected to the band, dancing singing and stomping along with every dance infected beat. It was one of the most enjoyable, cathartic, danceable concerts I'd seen in a long time. For those who were there, it was like a religious experience for people who love great dance music. Hope they come back to Philly VERY soon.
