A continuation of Deer Camp! The Lowrey is a small venue so you are right there with the actors. We attended with friends and we are all deer hunters. The comradery and fun that the actors display - we can really relate to! It's like our own deer camp - only these guys sing better!
The story was good, but there were too many songs for my taste. Although the actors could actually sing.
We liked Deer Camp but Holy Bells wasn't in that category. This dragged on. Way too long between something funny. Making fun of Moose got old. The songs were mostly solo's and while sung well, would have liked more harmony. I was looking at my watch frequently wondering when it would be done. My husband took our adult children and ended up apologizing profusely after the show.
Not as funny as hoped for. Too much of the "Deer Camp" again. A few good moments including some of the songs. Good digs at the ACLU and other goofies that try to mess up a good thing. A good portraial of what most folks appreciate about Christmas and did not try to hide the truth that Jesus birth was being celebrated.
We went to Holy Bells because both of my daughters have gone deer hunting with "the guys" and decided it's NOT a place for girls! This play was a good reminder of "why not!" We laughed a lot and especially enjoyed the original Christmas songs that were presented throughout the show. These guys have amazing voices! This was a very inexpensive and enjoyable evening!
Enjoyed the play and always like the live theater. The proximity to the stage and the actors is enjoyable and the relaxing atmosphere is a plus. Would like a CD of the songs. Really liked those as well as the overall theme of the play. It hit home to what Christmas is really about. Thanks.
I attended this event with my husband and four adult children. It was very corny, most of the jokes were outdated, and I would definately not recommend it to anybody. The tickets were overpriced for the entertainment. It should have been a free show.
OMG it was great! I took my staff that work in my small child care center. It was great to laugh and let loose. The actors were so believeable and the singing was great. A mix of laughter and great music. You could really relate as if you were with them in their deer shack. Going again taking my deer hunter husband.
Don't waste your money on this stinker!!! It is nothing like the original Deer Camp. Different cast who were BAD. I brought 2 friends to see it thinking it would be as good as the first Deer Camp... I was SO embarrassed. Total waste of money!!!!!!!
Hilarious musical was perfect for our family celebration!
