About

The world inside Tupac Shakur’s music and lyrics blazes to life in an entertaining new musical!

Broadway has always given voice to popular culture and social change.  South Pacific, West Side Story, Hair, and Rent are among the hits that hit home.  Now Broadway gives voice to the lyrics of Tupac Shakur, whose music has sold over 75 million albums.

Holler If Ya Hear Me is a riveting, non-biographical story about friendship, love, change, family and hope—an original work that is at once a love story and an unretouched picture of life in the streets.

The seating in the orchestra level of the Palace Theatre has been reconfigured to create a more intimate experience for the audience.  The stage has been moved closer to the audience and the seats are now stadium style, making every seat prime viewing.

Holler If Ya Hear Me brings together some of the theater’s most prominent creative talents.  Directed by Kenny Leon (A Raisin in the Sun, Fences) with an original book by Todd Kriedler (Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner), with choreography by Tony Award® winner Wayne Cilento (Wicked, How to Succeed…), and musical supervision by Daryl Waters (Bring in ‘Da Noise, Bring In ‘Da Funk, The Color Purple, Memphis.)

Don’t miss this chance to experience the sheer brilliance of one of the 20th century’s most prophetic and influential voices whose message continues to echo throughout our culture today.

The show will begin promptly at the time stated. No late seating.

Late review but it was AWESOME! The storyline, the music, the singing, the acting. We all were moved by what we were witnessing. The country needs to be able to witness this.

    Amazing!!!!

by Anonymous on 7/29/14Palace Theatre - New York

We were fortunate enough to see the last performance of "Holler If Ya Hear Me" on July 20th. It was simply amazing!!! The storyline, singing and dancing were phenominal and enjoyed by the entire audience who gave the performers a long, screaming, standing ovation. Very sad to hear we were viewing the final performance. The reviews did not do it well as I tried to get several additional family memebers to attend but they said the reviews were bad and they didn't want to take the risk. I quickly sent them a text after the show telling them what they missed. I hope you take this show on the road. Don't be discouraged, keep pushing!!!

Everyone should see Holler If Ya Hear Me! If you like the music and poetry of Tupac, you will definitely like the show. However, the storyline is what really drives the show as it addresses issues that are everyday struggles for many Americans. It's easy to turn a blind eye to topics that are uncomfortable, but that is all the more reason to talk about them. Hollar If Ya Hear Me does a great job of getting the ball rolling.

    **Aaaaaaahhhhhh!!!! I heared you **

by dreaboo22 on 7/25/14Palace Theatre New York - New York

Josh Boone was amazing #VCU #Rams4life The music was done over where it was still recognizable but different enough to be "new". The main character was so real and made you feel what he was going through. This was a very good show. Everyone was so talented. The dancing and singing was wonderful. Hopefully it comes back to Broadway again because it's what Broadway is missing.

Holler If Ya Hear Me, too awesome for words

by knowledge17 on 7/24/14Palace Theatre New York - New York

Hate to hear this play is closing. The play relates to current social problems our youths, young adults and parents face today, especially in the Black community. No matter how other ethnicities or races claim they experience racism, prejudice and discrimination, with employment, housing and education, the experience is nothing compared to an impoverish Black youth, male or female. Yes, today the Priviledge are experiencing the same dilemmas, but being white opens more doors, regardless if you have connections or not.
