About

In describing Henry Rollins, the tendency is to try to squeeze as many labels as possible into a single sentence. "Rollins is many things," says The Washington Post, "diatribist, confessor, provocateur, humorist, even motivational speaker...his is an enthusiastic and engaging chatter." Entertainment Weekly's list includes "Punk Rock icon. Spoken word poet. Actor. Author. DJ. Is there anything this guy can't do?" TV Guide has more concisely called him a "Renaissance Man" but if Henry Rollins could be reduced to a single word, that word would undoubtedly be "workaholic." When he's not traveling, Rollins prefers a to keep a relentless schedule full of work, with gigs as an actor, author, DJ, voice-over artist and TV show host to name a few of the roles that keep his schedule full. Rollins has toured the world as a spoken word artist, as frontman for both Rollins Band and Black Flag and as a solitary traveler with insatiable curiosity, favoring road-less-traveled locales in places such as Nepal, Sri Lanka, Siberia, North Korea, South Sudan and Iran.

Always a Great Show! And I've seen a LOT of them!

    by Doug Carroll on 11/19/23

I may have seen more Henry Rollins spoken word shows than any other artist. Second only to Tom Petty, who I have seen at least 4 times. I will continue to see Henry whenever he has a new show. He has an endless amount of mind blowing stories! This show was great! I may have seen 6 shows in person, and bought all spoken word media. For one of his best, see if you can buy "Eric the Pilot"if he's still selling it. He always sold his spoken word shows for $5, which is totally reasonable. (Talk is cheap! (Inside joke!)) "Eric"is a fantastic story! YouTube if you must, but if you love it, buy the disc and support the artist! This is the disc I'd love to have him sign, if I think he'll be doing a post show meet and greet! (or I go to a pre-show!) I've loved all the TV shows he's produced. If any of those shows, such as "10 things you don't know about"are streamable, they were always very interesting! Who wouldn't want to hear stories from someone who loves to travel as much as him? They should still hold up, too! *Looks like the merch store is a bit vacant at the moment. YouTube Eric the Pilot and try to find the LONGEST one you can. Or find the CD in at a music store. That's probably the best version. **Henry! Put out a collection of all your spoken word material! I'll buy! And make the box "Vinyl"sized, as I would be HAPPY to put that on my wall as art, and add my tickets to the shows I've seen! I was lucky enough to see him the first time when I was in college in the 90s. I've gone to shows from Muncie, Chicago, South Bend, and Indianapolis! Always an amazing show and fairly priced! If you read this far, thanks! You're a hero!

    GREAT SHOW - ONE QUESTION

by BC on 11/17/23Elevation 27 - Virginia Beach

I thoroughly enjoyed seeing Henry Rollins in Virginia Beach. The VIP/Meet and Greet was a really good time; spending extra time with Henry after show really made for an enjoyable evening. My question is: where are my photos from the Meet and Greet? Purchase said we would be given a link a couple of days after the show to get our photos with Henry but I have never been sent the link. Can you help with that?

Still not sure if standup or spoken word

by Angry Too on 10/26/23Five Flags Center - Dubuque

Look, I'm just doing this out of courtesy to get numbers up on Henry's performance reviews. You don't need me to tell you if it was good: it was, duh. Frankly though this is my first time seeing him and he's in that category of performer where I actually feel it's critical to see before they're gone; like Bourdain, who I missed. So for me this was a MASSIVE bucket list item done and dusted. Thank you Henry, your still being angry (as costly on your health as that surely has been at times) gives me some comfort that I'm not alone in my experience and shows me that you can keep keepin' on when I'm feeling most gassed.
