Heartbeat of Home- Proud to be Irish!
by Prophet1 on 3/22/14Oriental Theatre Chicago - ChicagoMy daughter and I recently attended a Saturday Matinee performance of Heartbeat of Home. We had been looking forward to this since we received the announcement of it's performance dates months ago. We were not disappointed. Comparisons to "Lord of the Dance" and "Riverdance" are bound to happen but I don't think it would be fair to judge this or compare this to either of those performances. Heartbeat has it's own style, it's own voice. When we left the theater we discussed the music and dance of Heartbeat and we both concluded that the dancers were extraordinary. As for the music, it wasn't as memorable for me as the music of "Riverdance" or "Lord", but there were moments when certain songs resonated with me. I would certainly come back to see Heartbeat. It is more "current" in it's dance and as long as the Irish dance, I'll be there.
