Lots of Energy in "The Happy Elf"

by Cleric on 12/29/14Scranton Cultural Center - Scranton

The Happy Elf is a musical for all ages. The production in Scranton, PA proved it, with pre-school actors as adorable elves to those with quite a few years behind them. The cast, reported to include a hundred or more, was engaged and engaging; primarily from the local area. Lots of energy and smiles, eventually in Bluesville. Great lighting and effects for a spartan stage. Eugie, the happy elf, was wonderful. I heard some tweens in the lobby think they were in love with the actor. I hope the show returns to Scranton next year and finds outlets in other cities. It can become a great holiday classic.

The Happy Elf made us smile!

by wayneco on 12/27/14Scranton Cultural Center - Scranton

I went to this musical with my two teenage daughters. It was so much fun! We enjoyed the professional actors that were in the production, but mostly we were amazed by the local talent that was featured! The story of The Happy Elf was good. My teens enjoyed it, and younger children would be able to follow the story line easily. Recommended! Catch it while you still can!

    Fun family Holiday Show

by joemaz099 on 12/24/14Scranton Cultural Center - Scranton

While the target audience was mainly those under the age of 12, this show offered something for everyone. The main characters were very strong and talented, the music was cute and the production was first rate. The local performers were a delight to watch and at a time when arts in the schools is being hacked, it gave kids a venue to perform and be recognized. That fact that proceeds are given back to charities makes me want to go back and see it this weekend. In a word, fun.
