    Incredibly Moving

by STKinJax on 12/19/23Jacksonville Center for the Performing Arts - Jacoby Hall - Jacksonville

From the accomplished and versatile soloists, to the strength of the chorus, to the highly talented symphony led by Courtney Lewis, this presentation of Handel's Messiah was one of the most moving performances I could imagine. It brought a deep meaning to Christmas for us this year, and I hope to make it an annual tradition going forward. We are so fortunate to have the Jacksonville Symphony and the Jacksonville Center for the Performing Arts in our community!

    Beyond Expectations

by JeffNJody on 12/20/22Bardavon 1869 Opera House - Poughkeepsie

We were amazed at the amount of musical talent that is in this area and that performed on stage this afternoon. They brought Handel's Messiah alive. This brought us to tears as our hearts were stirred and as we remembered singing parts of it in the past. The venue was fantastic, as even though we were in row T we could still hear every word.

Great performance. I gave it a 4 because I thought the acoustic could have been better.

    A wonderful evening

by Klondikespeeps on 12/12/17Pensacola Saenger Theatre - Pensacola

Handel's Messiah at the Saenger was a truly memorable event. The performance was outstanding and the performers sang beautifully. The Saenger is such a beautiful theater and the sound quality there is very good. We will be making this performance a yearly tradition.

    The Messiah was wonderful

by JimSnips on 12/6/17Pensacola Saenger Theatre - Pensacola

We enjoyed the Messiah immensely. We were somewhat familiar with the piece, but had never experienced it in its entirety. The chorus sang magnificently and the instrumental group was outstanding. We especially enjoyed joining with the entire audience in singing the "Hallelujah Chorus after learning how it came about.

    Uplifting! As usual

by Wilco1 on 12/5/17Pensacola Saenger Theatre - Pensacola

What a counterpoint to the raucous street party on Palofox, Handel's Messiah, performed by Pensacola Choral Society, orchestra and soloists and ably directed by Maestro Chen refocused me on the season. Divine and captivating, the blessed music filled The Saenger theater and suffused the receptive audience with joy. See and hear this event next year, you will be glad you did.

    So So

by TheJDman on 12/28/16New Jersey Performing Arts Center - Newark

Music was great. Hard to understand the words. Not sure if it was the sound system or them not holding notes. Depressing at end when someone on stage collapsed.
