The Space at Westbury MESSED up the sound

by VenueFAIL on 12/9/15The Space At Westbury - Westbury

I have been seeing Hammer of the Gods regularly for years. They are an outstanding band. The sound at The Space at Westbury was so bad it was painful to be at the show. Will I go to see Hammer of the Gods again - ABSOLUTELY!! Do I recommend this show to everyone I know - ABSOLUTELY!! Will I ever go to another show at The Space at Westbury - Not anytime soon if ever.

Hammer of the Gods - they're good - not great

by TributeBandFan on 12/8/15The Space At Westbury - Westbury

The warm-up band was better than Hammer of the Gods. Feedback problems with the sound system, Musicians were great. Lead singer lacked personality and failed to make a connection with the audience. Get the Led Out is a much, much better Zep band.

The worst sound at any concert

by drmak11 on 12/8/15The Space At Westbury - Westbury

They couldn't get the sound correct. There was constant feedback. We could not hear the guitar though when we did he was fantastic. The sound in general was loud and muffled. So not sure who's fault this was, the band or venue.

    Hammer of the Gods............Horrible!

by scarola105 on 12/8/15The Space At Westbury - Westbury

I go to 15 to 20 shows a year and I can't tell you how disappointing Hammer of the Gods were. We left after three or four songs.

The seats were good but the sound was horrible. I don't believe it's the bands fault. They should look for new sound person.

    Wow...very good in all respects

by Anonymous on 2/2/14the Kate - Old Saybrook

Can't get over how good these guys were and have no idea how the other reviewers don't all rate them 5 stars. I am a life long Zep fan and have seen many tribute acts including Get the Led Out and Kashmir. Both were solid in their own right especially musically but none of the singers sounded like Plant like this guy did. To me that clearly separates them and I also like how its just 4 guys playing raw instead of the 8 man Get the Led out. Not to knock them because they are very good but I can't see how any true Zep fan wouldn't prefer Hammer of the Gods. The only possible knock on them could be that they are aging and that its an older Plant and Page look. But seriously, can't imagine that bothering anyone when they sound as good as they did. It did help that the venue was the size of a highschool cafeteria but with incredible acoustics. Would go back to "the Kate" any day. Best venue I ever have been to. So small but with great acoustics. Was a bit bizarre to see the others who were there and seemed to be taking in the show like it was a movie but other than this being perplexing it didn't bother me at all. Can't wait to go back and hope that Hammer of the Gods plays there again. The ticket price for a tribute band at $47 is steep but I would pay it every weekend to see these guys. It was just that good.

    Hammer of the Gods

by Bbopdlux on 11/25/13NYCB Theatre at Westbury - Westbury

I saw Hammer of the Gods back in 05 & they were new & great. Unfortunately after 7yrs I expected more professionalism, they spent time on stage deciding what the next song they wanted to play. The singer's couldn't hit the high notes.

    Very disappointed

by Peppers1021 on 11/25/13NYCB Theatre at Westbury - Westbury

Although they looked and sounded like Led Zeppelin, I was disappointed in their set list. For the 1st hour, they only played 1 of their hits. When it was all said and done, they played maybe 3 or 4 of their hits. I think a lot of people were restless too because I've never seen so many people walking around, going outside etc. How do they not play Stairway to Heaven, Black Dog, Rock and Roll etc. Very disappointed.

    good cover band

by chinogoat on 3/18/13Sherman Theater - Stroudsburg

Zep cover band, music was good - singer was just OK. The set of songs was really good and moby dick was great. I found GTLO to be much closer to the real album but they had a much larger band and fancier equiment. This was a true 4 peice ensemble that played the music very well. Still a cool show and we enjoyed ourselves. The crowd got into it towards the end, but would like to see them in a bigger venue when the crowd is more engaged. maybe an outdoor summer festival
