    Disappointed

by DanitaC on 5/5/16Bon Secours Wellness Arena - Greenville

Coming from MD and enjoying many Black Rodeo shows (Bill Pickett Rodeo Show); I was one excited that Greenville, SC would be hosting its first black rodeo show. I even encouraged and bought tickets for some youth in my community to attend. The initial ceremony started out nicely and I loved the pomp and circumstance, but after that the show did not have any of the spark that I longed to see. There was a lot of time that could have been filled in and I could see the crowd was restless - midway through the show half the audience had left. My advice is to add more substance to the show, so that a lot of time is not left with the audience doing anything. I enjoyed seeing the children run on the grounds, but with the horse poop and all, it was unsanitary for the kids to remove their shoes and run on the grounds, then put their shoes back on. I was really disappointed

I truly enjoyed the rodeo experience, it was my first "Rodeo." the skills that it takes to handle the horses and bulls is amazing to me (especially the petite ladies who can handle them)

    The Black Rodeo was ok!

by LadyT54 on 5/4/16Bon Secours Wellness Arena - Greenville

This was my first time going to a rodeo. It will probably be my last time. I would recommend this event only if you are into watching and smelling horses and horse poop! A person got hurt riding a bull and the show ended after that which was fine with me. There are people that are really into this but it just wasn't for me. Different strokes for different folks!

    Greenville Black Rodeo

by Anonymous on 5/3/16Bon Secours Wellness Arena - Greenville

My family and I went to the Black Rodeo in Columbia last year and it was fabulous. When I heard the Black Rodeo was coming to Greenville this year, I was excited. We didn't have to drive to Columbia for the show. We were disappointed in the show. The actual performers (riders) were great. But it didn't seem as organized as last year. There was a lot of lag time between events. The MC and comedian were not as funny or well engaged. Even my 5 year old commented that the show was better in Columbia. We actually left the show around 10:15 pm. Last year's show had more crowd participation to fill in the empty space when no one was performing. I would like to see this continue in Greenville because it is a great experience to witness. But it needs to be a little more organized.

    Not a good show

by 1why on 5/3/16Bon Secours Wellness Arena - Greenville

The black rodeo was falsely advertised. They talked more then they performed. the animals looked extremely sick. I was looking for what my ticket said...A BLACK RODEO! Very unsatisfied.

    Black Rodeo

by TaSonya on 5/3/16Bon Secours Wellness Arena - Greenville

This was the first time that my 7 year old or my self had gone to a rodeo. It was very cool. And it was even better for him to see African American cowboys and cowgirls. I would definitely take him again.

    Horrible

This was the worst event I've ever been to. I'm pretty sure these guys and girls were not real Cowboys.
