Grand Prix of Houston Tickets

If you go, go for the race. There's not much else besides the racing. The vendors are fine but it feels overwhelming to buy something when all you want to do is watch fast cars and drink beer. Otherwise we enjoyed ourselves despite the rain that kept us away for most of the day.

I will be back next year,but I will not fill out anymore entries. You always get harassing calls from travel agencies who tell you you have won a trip and want to collect money over the phone; Beware! Every year I have filled out an entry form to win a ride in the pace car or the Indy 2 seater and every time I get a call from a travel agency instead.

We thoroughly enjoyed the Indycar racing event in Houston but were very disappointed that the Pirelli GT series was not here this year or that there was not a top name support series with Indycar. We are thrilled to have such access to the drivers which is not available in other series. With the hot, humid conditions in Houston it was great to have the air conditioned buildings nearby for relief on occasion. But we are both older and do not understand the reason for the no re-entry policy at the gate. There are many times when we want access to our car to drop off purchases or pick up seats, etc. Many other racing events we have been to allow re-entry.

I'll definitely continue returning to this event. Well organized, good facilities for getting out of the heat, free access to the paddock, cheap access to the pitlane, and of course Indycar provides great access to the drivers during the autograph session. The on-track action is terrific because of the double-race format; a great value. And the temporary circuit offers a good mix of low- and high-speed sections. The grandstand at turn 6 is great.

Great event for the whole family, it was my first race and my wife and I loved it. Looking forward to going to the next Houston Grand Prix.

Grand Prix of Houston was a great time. Only bad thing was it rained which ia just bad luck. We still had fun and would see again.

The video screens at grandstand 1 were located *MUCH* better this year than last, but they were still not ideal. They were moved farther toward the ends of the grandstands, which allowed them to actually be seen by people at the ends - but this year they were too far out to be viewed very well from the center! Fortunately, I hadn't moved far enough toward the center to adversely affect my view of the screen on my end. :-) Ideally, there should be 3 video screens for that huge grandstand, evenly spaced for those seated in the grandstands. That is, 'divide' the grandstand into 3 equal sections, and place a video screen directly across from the center of each section. And aim them directly across the track, not angled in either direction: ---- ---- ---- ------------------------------|------------------------------|------------------------------ It would also be great to have bigger video screens. They looked pretty small as far away from the grandstands as they were. Also, the walkways over the track are still a major bottleneck (though less so than last year - there seemed to be a lot fewer spectators this year). One walkway for the entire grandstand 1 is ludicrous. The western crossover wasn't quite as bad, as there were two of them this year. Although I don't think many people noticed the eastern-most one of them.

The Indycar series puts on a great race weekend which is fun for the whole family. The drivers are accessible on Friday for autographs and I know no other series which allows the fans to get as close to the vehicles in the paddock and talk to the drivers than Indycar.

Wish more people came to a great race. The Indy drivers and crews were very accessible.
