Come and experience the sparkle and the magic of the Goh Ballet's Nutcracker - the show The Province claims is "..the one to see" this holiday season. With a live orchestra and a cast of 200 performers, this production is the only traditional Nutcracker in Vancouver this year.
Even though the ballet was sweet and very well done, it definitely Is a family affair for grandma’s, grandpa’s, ants uncles friends etc. The performance did excellent and the music was wonderful. I’ve never seen the nutcracker it’s a good foot in the door. And I lovely way to spend an afternoon with a friend or loved one.
My wife and I attended The Centre to see The GOH Ballet Nutcracker this year, and we were so happy with the performance. From the dancing to the costumes, set design and music the entire show kept us mesmerized from start to finish. We look forward to taking our grandaughter next year when she is 5, and we hope to see this ballet every year ourselves.
Seeing The Nutcracker live was part of my eldest daughter's birthday celebration. We had never been able to attend when she was younger so it was long overdue. As well, her 5 year old daughter, my granddaughter, was with us. Together, both my daughters, granddaughter and I watched the magic unfold before us and it was an evening we will never forget! My granddaughter was so enchanted, she didn't realize she was tired until after it was over. She didn't want to miss anything! The performance was even more amazing from a front row view! The dancers make it look effortless but, up close you see, and appreciate even more, the very hard work involved physically. The performance was absolutely wonderful and one we hope to see again and again!
The principal dancers are simply breathtaking .... unfortunately you have to wade through a significant amount of children dancing to get to the highlights . Well I see value in including that many children I would've preferred to have more principal and high level dancers. It starts to feel a little like a year and show and less like a professional performance
The Dancers and orchestra all performed very well. The sets were excellent. There were 7 of us in our group and we all enjoyed the ballet very much. Next time we will choose better seats because we could not see well from the angle
Side balcony seats weren't the best but the show was one of the best I've seen yet! Such incredible talent
As a former dancer myself, I am a bit biased towards school productions, as there is a level of excitement not often seen in the professional productions, these dancers are still excited for their castings ;) That said, the production quality is top notch, and is a great showcase for the talented dancers. Lovely to see a production being done in town by students from BC!!
A must-see that will leave you with unforgettable memories

I'm from out of town so wanted to see a production of the Nutcracker by the Goh Ballet. I previously saw the production by the other group in town several years ago. I enjoyed the Goh Ballet for its creative choreography and its use of its students who are young, old, and graduates in their Program. This was a good home-town production and it was appreciated by all those in attendance, especially the children. But the orchestra was something to be desired, not because of their technique or interpretation, but because it was amplified, cheapening the entire experience and making it sound like a digital recording. Perhaps you may have wanted the music to be loud to drown out the cries and noise of the children in attendance, but that definitely did not add to the quality of the production. I thought that the hall was amazing and beautiful, and hopefully, the church will encourage cultural activities which will add to the culture of the city of Vancouver.
