    Godfrey is god

by HarryMC on 4/2/18The Space at Westbury Theater - Westbury

No pun intended. This had to be the best of the best. Closed my eyes and thought Eric was in the room. It was that good. The band was outstanding. Special shout out goes to John M. and Rich Z. They also did an instrumental of Wonderful Tonight, tasty! Godfrey covered most of Claptons career hiting most of his well known songs from cream, Beatles(While my Guitar Gently weeps), to Derick and the Dominos, to 461 ocean blvd plus a couple of deep tracts from his blues period. When this come around again put this at the top of your list you will not regret it. PS. The Concert showcased a 22 year old guitar player for a small part of the show. I thought it would be a distraction. Quite the contrary, this young man is going to take over this show one day. But don't stop there, the would is at the guys feet GOOD LUCK MY MUSICAL FRIEND.

Godfrey Townsend never ever disappoints! His love of Eric Clapton shows through his voice and phenominal guitar playing! Two hours of classic Clapton went way too fast...Looking forward to the 17th Annual Birthday tribute next year! Keep it Rocking Godfrey! Peace!

Longest running annual event at BB's for a reason!

by SalEdawgz on 4/6/16B.B. King Blues Club & Grill - New York

The band is tight and they know every Clapton song from every era and not just the hits. They do different sets each year which is why some of us keep coming back yearly to see them. Or maybe it's because it's much harder and much, much more expensive to see the original EC play in a stadium or arena. You won't be disappointed in seeing this band play this EC tribute show or any other show they happen to be performing in. BB's is a very nice place to see a show and have some good food and drink. Try getting smothered pork chops at the Garden!

E.C. Birthday Bash is always amazing

by SalEdawgz on 4/7/15B.B. King Blues Club and Grill - New York

Godfrey Townsend and his bandmates are extraordinarily accomplished musicians that tour throughout the year with major recording artists that range from Alan Parsons to the late, great John Entwistle, Todd Rundgren and many other classic rock artists. For 14 years, they have been performing this annual Eric Clapton music concert at BB King's NYC. They always have a different set list which sometimes might feature a more obscure or deep track of E.C. They also don't limit to just Clapton solo songs but also Derek & the Dominoes and Cream. If you're a fan of EC you've got to see this show and I'm sure you'll become a fan of GT & Co.

    great concert - but .....

by whitestonesteve on 4/7/15B.B. King Blues Club and Grill - New York

Godfrey and friends were fantastic. They had a great setlist of Eric's hits. The person on the sound board should be fired! I think he has no concept of the job ! Godfreys' guitar level was way too low for the entire night. When you go to a guitar hero's concert you want to hear the guitar. Godfrey played his heart out but was drowned out by the piano, bass and drums. I am a guitar player and I had to strain my concentration to focus on Godfreys' playing. I have been to B.B. Kings many times and this is a repeat complaint.

    Great Show

by AlbertE1300 on 4/22/14B.B. King Blues Club and Grill - New York

what a great show. some Blind Faith songs, Cream, Derek & the Dominoes. I especially liked " I Feel Free ". I would go with 5 stars if it wasn't a little too loud at times. The drummers son came out, I think they said he was 14, and played Allman Brothers quality slide guitar. I was with 5 other people who really enjoyed it. If they do it again next year I will invite more people. Godfrey T. Is a great guitar player and has a good voice for Clapton Tunes.

    Godfrey rocks

by AAR1 on 3/31/13B.B. King Blues Club and Grill - New York

Godfrey was great but the volume was turned up way too high, we had to buy earplugs as well as cover our ears with our hands to be able to stand it. A shame because the music was rather good ... I pity the waiting staff at the BB King Club who are all bound to be stone deaf by the time they are 35.
