We've been going for about 6 years now and might not go next year. We donate additional dollars to AIDS charities so at least that won't change. Our issue with the new format is the theater. Although beautiful, we feel the Barker Hanger was a better venue for the event because it made you feel like you were part of a real fashion show. The runway set up was so much more impressive than the current stage set up. Don't get me wrong, the Orpheum theater and stage look beautifu, but it doesn't feel like a fashion show anymore. At this point, it's more about the entertainment. I'm assuming Glamorama moved to the Orpheum because they could sell more tickets?
I think what we liked more about the Barker hanger was that even to normal income people such as ourselves in the $75 ticket seats, we could still enjoy the fashion since it didn't seem soooo far away like it is in the Orpheum. I coordinated 26 people to come to this show..all in different seating areas of course, and we all felt similar.
It was fun to see the BSB and cirque, but we would rather have the feel of a fashion show instead. I think this 6th year will be our last.
Oh. By the way, what was the point of such a short presentation with the underwear guys...might as well of extended it and also added female models if you were going to do it at all.
Again we will continue to support HIV/AIDS services in other ways probably. Unless the venue changes.
