    Girlyman

by Stedda on 5/3/12Birchmere - Alexandria

Girlyman only gets better with time. I've been going to their shows for years, and the evolution of their music shows in their new release Supernova. Although the band is more polished than in the early years, they still have the sense of fun that makes them so lovable. As always, the harmonies are wonderful and the new instruments add a new dimension to the music overall (Nate on keyboards, JJ on drums, Ty playing the banjo). I love this band and look forward to their next tour!

    Girlyman was terrific!

    by concert2 on 5/2/12Birchmere - Alexandria

Girlyman has beautiful harmonies and creative, moving lyrics. The band is full of personality, humor, and talent, while also being down-to-earth. Really fun concert, talented, energetic band. Can't wait to see them again!

Coyote Grace & Girlyman were great! Both bands were very entertaining and had amazing harmonies and insightful words. We bought CDs and can't wait to see both bands again.

    Loved Both Acts!

by PlumV on 4/18/11Birchmere - Alexandria

I love Girlyman and see them whenever they are in the area. It was great to see Doris doing so well. And I was so excited to discover Susan Werner! I bought 3 CD's. She was fantastic. She had just the right combination that makes a great performer: Confidence in her talents, amusing, great song writing, great voice and outstanding instrumentals. She's my new favorite artist!

    Werner outshines Girlyman

by Whoosie on 4/18/11Birchmere - Alexandria

Absurdly, Susan Werner opened for Girlyman. Werner was a delight: assertive, witty, interacting with the crowd (including stealing and drinking a partial pitcher of beer from a friend of mine -- she bought her a new one later). Trina Hamlin was spectacular as usual and the new bass player (sorry -- forgot her name) was tight and fit in well. In contrast, Girlyman was awful. Out of tune, not together. Not the three part harmony I was looking for. Long, lame soliloquies when they were trying to tune. Much of the audience, including me, walked out.

We went to see Girlyman and they were super--love the harmonies. And now we have another favorite as Susan was wonderful--funny, challenging, and great interaction with her team.

    Girlyman was Bliss

by ElizabethAnnH on 4/17/11Birchmere - Alexandria

Four amazing musicians - each with his/her own authentic strength made for a joy filled evening. Their perfect blended harmony was for me like the peaceful aqua waves of a southern sea. Their comforting banter like a soft summer breeze. The drummer's clear pleasure in their music like a tiny giggle. All in all, a mini vacation!
