About

FUNERAL PARTY IN CONCERT:

Four-piece rock outfit Funeral Party is quickly rising to the top of the indie scene thanks to their irresistible mix of driving guitars, howling vocals, thumping bass lines, and fast-paced drumming. On tour the band gets concertgoers pumped up and tears through hits like “New York City Moves to the Sound of L.A.” and “The Golden Age of Knowhere”. No matter the venue, Funeral Party always has ticket buyers headbanging the night away with their edgy tunes.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Named after a Cure song, the four-piece band Funeral Party was formed in Los Angeles by a group of friends who came together to jam in a local park one night. After performing throughout LA, the band attracted attention from the Mars Volta’s producer Lars Stalfors, who decided to record their first single “Chalice”. The group gained momentum from the track and became well known within the local indie scene. They broke out in 2011 with the album The Golden Age of Knowhere, which earned a Top 40 spot on the UK Albums chart and received major critical praise. A hot new act with major potential, Funeral Party's hard-hitting tour delivers fun-filled sets that feature cuts from The Golden Age of Knowhere alongside new material from their 2014 release.

Saw Funeral Party as opening act for New Politics last year, and Funeral Party was better. They came back through NY after Europe and SxSW so we saw them again, this time as headliner, and they were terrific. Great energy, lots of passion. Each band member is flat-out talented. They played on the Late Show /Letterman last night. See them in a small venue while you can.
